Jacoby's Cafe

While this Cafe was off our normal path to Austin we decided to make the right turn in Brady and head on out to Melvin for lunch.  Boy was that the right turn to make!  We had been told good things about the food at Jacoby's from those we trust and they were spot on.  Great iced tea, crisp salad, fresh and hot fries, and a great stuffed hamburger steak.  Good selection of wines as well.  I enjoyed a glass of Brennan Vineyards Cabernet (first choice was Brennan Vineyards Dark Horse but they were out at the time!) with my lunch.  Service was great as was the conversation with Mr Jacoby.  We are already looking forward  to a return trip with friends for the dinner offerings and even more to a visit to their new project in Austin (see Jacoby's Austin).  A stop at Jacoby's was a great way to start out our 14 hour (Brownwood to Melvin, Melvin to Mason, Mason to Fredericksburg, Fredericksburg to Austin, Austin to Lampasas, Lampasas to Brownwood) Saturday road trip!
