As a local, this is our favorite restaurant. Â During the summer, especially on a holiday weekend, you'd better get there before 6:00pm or expect to wait. Â After 7:00 expect your wait to be up to an hour.
I have never had anything there that was not great. Â The desserts are amazing. Â You must try the Wham-Bam Shrimp!
We ate here on a Thursday evening at about 6 p.m. and found only 3-4 other tables occupied. About 7 p.m. the restaurant was full except for counter seats. Our interior table had a nice view of the lake.
We ordered the pork shank which came with an orange-chipotle suace. The sauce was cloying sweet and we quit eating the shank due to its sweetness. Â We saw several others having the pork shank as well. We also tried the fried catfish which was corn meal encrusted and not spicy. Instead of potatoes, we had the vegetable of the day, carrots and snap peas. The carrots were fork tender.
The restaurant is located in a "dry county" but operates a private membership club which serves wine.
We had a nice meal and will hopefully be back this fall when the leaves are turning.
