Stopped here for dinner and thought it was great. Â Located in a strip mall off of Route 9. Â Very roomy with a large bar and local feel. Â Menu was mostly standard pub fare with a good variety of selections and macrobrews. Â Our server was excellent. Â Prices were very reasonable.
My family loved the mozzarella sticks here. Â I really enjoyed the French Onion Soup and their specialty JD Burger.
Two thumbs up! Â Atmosphere, food, service were all fantastic.
This is a geographically adjusted 3 stars.
After a round of golf at Galloway National, we were jonesing for a beer and bar food. Â The golf courses kitchen was closed and there is little surrounding competition. Â The fact that anything is yelp reviewed around here was a plus and is really why we came. Â
Entering JD's feels so familiar. Â A large bar with a fair amount of old wood, bright miller lite neon signs, dart boards, bruce springsteen, macrobrew specials, and a bunch of locals. Â While some find this scene depressing, I find it endearing. Â Nonetheless, if you're from the tristate region, you'll feel at home.
The draft list is as expected with predominately macrobrews. Â The bottle list was a bit better with some expected, but great choices like dogfishhead, victory etc. Â The menu was also fairly standard: wings, chili, fried stuff, sandwiches, burgers...
I had a bowl of chili and some wings. Â The chili was meh, but what was I expecting? Â The wings were solid, bar wings. Â Not the best, far from the worst, and definitely satisfying. Â My buddy had a reuben, for which he shared the sentiment I had for the wings.
A sub $30 tab for a couple beers and enough food to fuel me back to Philly was totally worth it. Â Good option for golfers to look at if playing nearby and dont wanna eat at the course.
Better than average bar food. Â The mozzarella sticks, while actually not stick-shaped, were way above average. Â
Apparently they also have a bus service on Thursdays that gets you around Galloway, which is probably aimed at college kids but nonetheless made me wish more bars did this.
It's an awesome pub! Â Lots of space and definitely the local watering hole. Â The three of us walked in as everyone was watching the game, the server did acknowledge us as we sat ourselves in a booth. Â He checked on us promptly for drinks and within minutes we had some brewskies at hand. Â
We ordered the manhattan clam chowder and the Irish nachos, a fun play on nachos con queso. Â The nachos were waffle cut potatoes and the cheddar cheese was heaped on with sour cream. Green onions finished off the plate and the manhattan clam chowder was as expected; fresh and flavorful,
Soon came the entrees, my girl had the beef, sausage and spinach sandwich, I had the crab imperial new york strip and our buddy had chicken wings. Â Since the establishment was a pub after all, we had the right expectations for the food. Â We weren't expecting any fancy garnishes or over the top plating, instead, we had good well prepared dishes that complimented our beers. Â
My steak was done perfectly, succulent and just a tad over rare. Â The crab imperial that topped of the steak could have had more texture, but I wasn't expecting jumbo lump meat either. Â I was expecting pure white mashed potatoes, but received the rustic kind (with the skin), I would have loved a smothering of steak drippings on the potatoes or on the side, because the mash gets a bit dry when not eaten fast enough.
My girl's sandwich was perfectly balanced, with provolone melting over the top, all the flavors mixing together with a hint of garlic. Â Fries on the side accompanied the single slice of pickle. Â We bummed some wings later on, and the sweet chilli sauce (extra) was a good call.
Great place, great pub food, great service. Â We had a great time and the atmosphere was great-
This is a fun bar with good regular food as well. Â They have a lovely roast pork sandwich with provolone cheese. Â Also, they have a great selection of beers.
I enjoy the atmosphere especially since NJ passed the no smoking in public places. Â This place seemed to accumulate smoke rather than the smoke eaters getting rid of it. Â
They also have a restaurant section that is a bit tamer than the bar.
