I went here with a group of kids and it was a blast. They had a live band playing on the patio and it was very picturesque. It took awhile for service, but the kids were distracted by the band that they hardly noticed. Once we had our food, it was delicious and it was a great place to go. I would go back but it wouldn't be my first choice though.

Don't come here if you are on a schedule. You'll never get to eat. I came here twice. The first time I had the patience and time to wait, the second time around I didn't. I spent fifteen minutes waiting for service and then, when the waiter came, she told me that it would be a thirty minutes wait. At that point the restaurant was full and no one had food on their tables.

It is a shame that the kitchen and the service are not well organized, because the restaurant, their staff and the owners are so nice. Besides, they welcome dogs and I always appreciate that so much.

Regarding the food, it is good. I liked my burger and French fries smothered in green chile stew. It felt very homey.

This was as nice a place as any to stop off and have lunch while cruising up State Route 4. They serve breakfast all day, which is nice, and they have a nice patio for seating when the sun's out (and lucky for us, it was!)

The menu choices were varied, and the prices weren't too bad. All the burgers are a ground blend of both pork and beef, FYI. I had the patty melt, which I really liked on the sourdough bread, she had the burger. While good, neither really knocked my socks off. That being said, we did have the sweet potato tater tots, and they were tasty.

Service was OK. Friendly enough. All in all, not a bad place. Next time I might try the blue corn pancakes.

This cafe is wonderful. I was very surprised to find a vegan menu and made to order food. Renee truly loves her job. What a find. We will come again and thank you for such a sweet experience.

We stopped in for breakfast and what a huge mistake. The server was not in the least bit friendly to us or our two children. The prices were rather high and the wait was long. The food was a complete mess. The toast arrived completely BLACK and burnt and the waitress tells us "Sometimes the toaster works and sometimes it doesn't. If you want a different piece let me know." The toast should NEVER have left the kitchen the way it did! It was not edible at all. The omlette was super small and overcooked, the cheese sprinkled on top the dry and burnt potato pieces was not melted at all and cold and was not fresh- white spots all over the cheese and obviously from a low quality bag of pre-shredded cheese. You had to douse the potatoes in ketchup to try to soften them enough to eat. We never did get a refill on our waters.

The owner was sitting on the patio too and was really loud and rude. He shoved past one gentleman sitting by the gate to let his dog out. He didn't even say excuse me or wait for him to get out of the way. The dog didn't seem friendly and the owner was taunting him to get him more riled up and barking. I was a bit uneasy with it around my kids. The owner was also taking phone calls and when we left he was coming in as we were going out and he didn't even wait for us to all get out the building before brushing through us.

To make it worse- I felt really nauseous a couple hours later and I think it was a result of the food. NEVER again. This place has so much potential to be a great little place but oh my goodness! It was a dreadful experience that we will never repeat.

After we figured out their hours, my boyfriend and I very much enjoyed the Stage Stop.  We tried going here on our first morning to take down some of the blue corn pancakes that we'd heard so much about.  We pulled up at about 8 on a Tuesday and there were no signs of life.  Apparently they are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays we found out later but there was no indication of this on any of their signs or on the door.

Anywho, the next morning, thankfully they were open!  The woman working was so warm and friendly.  We walked in and she told us right away that the kitchen wasn't quite open yet, but we could sit and have coffee and they'd be open shortly.  We did just that.

We ordered our food and I went with the blue corn blueberry cakes with an egg on the side.  It took quite a while to get our food, which may have been because the kitchen was still "waking up."  We weren't in an incredible hurry so it wasn't a huge deal.  Once it got to the table....oh my, I couldn't believe my eyes.  I had ordered the short stack of cakes and these babies were HUGE.  I had my first bite and I was in carb heaven.  These pancakes are so, so delicious.  Seriously, if you are eating here for breakfast ORDER THEM!  I wish I could have some right this very minute.

The atmosphere in here is bright, fun, and perfectly southwestern.  There were kitschy touches all over and fun little antiques.  The food was awesome, the service was awesome.  Wonderful experience over all, once we finally caught them while they were open.

We stayed near by at the Canyon Inn, which by the way was a great, hidden place on the side of the road with a friendly owner, and walked to the Stage Stop for breakfast.
We chose this spot over the other two in-town breakfast places because it seemed more "local". Upon seeing the front, it was very rustic and had plenty of folk art, giving it a "homey" feeling. The sign outside also said pets welcome, and it had two large patio sitting areas. Then, when we entered, there were plenty of tables, and a fire was lit in the wood stove. Loved it!
I had the blue corn/blueberry pancakes, and they were the size of my plate!! They were huge!!! Best pancakes hands down I have ever indulged in.
My dad had the huevos rancheros, and he sung nothing put praises about his dish. They were covered in green chile and looked amazing.
All in all, the meal was fairly cheap for breakfast. But I don't care how much I pay if I get food like that!!
Go and eat here, it's a sin not to if you drive by and it's open.

My boyfriend and I took a Christmas drive, and were hours away from home when we realized how hungry we were. Luckily, the Jemez Stage Stop was open! It took a while for the server to reach us (as it was Christmas, very busy, and he seemed to be the only one working), but he took our to-go order of fries and gave us free, homemade cookies while we waited!

The French fries were good, warm and thick. But what was really wonderful was the man's attitude; he was pleasant and happy! On Christmas, too.

The decorations were fun, too: eclectic and mis-matched in a very good way. There are a number of beautiful beta fish in cute little tanks, and any restaurant that is overflowing with happy plants is a good one in my book!

Definitely worth the stop if you're in Jemez Springs.

Great little place in Jemez Springs. We stopped in for a late breakfast. Biscuits and Sausage gravy were tasty and the gigantic blue corn pancake was out of sight.  Very nice people, fireplace and free cookies to go. What more could you want?? Home made pie too but we had no room! Maybe next time.
