My theory is that there are two kinds of people who eat here- people who are looking for a sports bar (great food compared to others!) and people who are there for the food, not drinks or sports (meh, you can do better). We were passing through town and in the meh crowd, but the grilled shrimp were well prepared. Â Just don't expect anything close to a foodie experience and you won't be disappointed.
Review Source:YUM!!!! We live in the area and got fed up with Alli Gator's. Tried this place tonight and the service was really friendly, prices good, and food delicious. Po Boy sandwich and veggie pizza pics on here are mine. We also had the fish tacos and the Mojo BBQ pork special. Everyone was happy, we'll definitely be back!!
Review Source:DO NOT ride the trolley!!
Joe Cracker offers a trolley ride from their restaurant to the TB Rays spring training game. It is advertised on their website and we called to make reservations and paid the restaurant when we made the reservations. The game was set to start at 1:05pm and we arrived at 11:30am for our ride to the game. The ride is about 3 miles, and about half way there the trolly ran out of gas. As we were sitting in the hot, motionless trolley I called the restaurant, and after a while a staff member arrived with their personal pickup truck. We all left the trolly and piled into the back of the truck for a ride to the game. We arrived late and missed the only run of the game.
For the ride back I skipped the trolly and rode with friends. I figured it is better to be stuffed into the back of a car than risk another fiasco with the trolly.
When we got back to the restaurant I of course wanted a refund. I found a man that looked like a manager, made my complaint, and he asked me to sit and wait for Nate. After waiting for what seemed like hours we were approached by a short old man with a sweat stained t-shirt and a bad attitude. We later found out that he was the owner, but he neglected to introduce himself before beginning his tirade about how we were not entitled to a refund because the trolly service is subcontracted and Joe Cracker does not perform the service. I said to him this restaurant advertised the service and took my payment, of course you are responsible. All I received from this man was more yelling, an unwillingness to take responsibility, and a foul odor before he walked away.
Now I know this part may seem ridiculous, but believe me when I say I had no choice: we stayed to eat. I was dehydrated from the hot death trolly, and my family was hungry. You will not be surprised to know the food was terrible.
ZERO stars.
THIS is our FAVORITE place to eat in the area, Food is very good and the service is great!
The grilled shrimp and the loaded potato are just excellent. The grilled will come with another dish - but when we have requested it separately - absolutely no problem.
We have had the burgers - also great, as is everything else we have ordered.
HIGHLY recommended!!
We like to frequent locally owned establishments and were pleased to find that Joe's is locally owned and operated. Nice, beachy atmosphere with lots of TVs, if that is what you like, we don't care for TVs in restaurants but it did not detract from our meal. Other Yelpers recommended the fish tacos and the losbster mac and cheese. Large servings so we split the plates. Both excellent and well prepared. Lobster was generously included in the hot and cheesy macaroni. Very, very good.
Review Source:Seeking a place that was somewhere in the middle of our 3 hour drive from Sarasota to South Florida. Â Fresh Catch was Tuna, however I would call to see what the daily catch is, because all I hear is the grouper sandwhich is a must try.
I opted for the fish tacos, and I was very very happy. Â They were stuffed with nice big Mahi filets and loaded with the Joe Cracker sauce and lettuce. The fries are those yummy coated fries.
The atmosphere was a fun beach side feeling, I forgot we were on the road after 20 minutes of being inside. Â I love the big open windows welcoming outdoors into the in, or vice versa.
I recommend this little spot. Â Nothing fancy back makes you happy. Good service and clean establishment.
Went here twice within a week, it was that good!
My 1st visit I had the lobster mac and cheese... and it was even better than expected! My husband had the the ribs and shrimp and the ribs were the best! The meat just melted in our mouths!
Our 2nd visit I had the coconut shrimp! It was SOO good!! The sauce they gave me to dip with was amazing. My husband had the stone crabs combo. Blacken fish and shrimp was great! The crab cake was just alright... but I think were just not a fan of crab cakes all together.
They also have good drinks! My husband got the $2 draft beer and I got some kind of yummy rum punch... 2 of them and I was feeling pretty wonderful!! :-)
Excellent grouper sandwiches and other choices. Â Pizzas are unique and phenomenal. Â Service was great and the waitress (Debra) and her manager printed out a list of restaurant choices for Sanibel! Â Great people and food and you like sports this has more big screens and projectors then there are games to watch.
Review Source:Atmosphere, food, festivities, and fabulous are the words that spring to mind when I think of my Joe Cracker experience. Â Our server was Val, and she was wonderful! Â Doug was running about rocking his St. Patty's beer goggles, live music filled the air, and exquisite food and drink filled us to the brim. Â We were guests of Michelle and Dana, friends of mine from way back when, and we were treated wonderfully by everyone we met. Â I cannot say enough about a most enjoyable dining and Saturday Night Out experience. Â My husband and I are definitely Joe Cracker-heads forever. Â Let those Grateful Deads flow!
:)
Thank you to the staff and wonderful individuals at Joe Cracker for showing us a great time beyond words. Â We will definitely be back for another visit, armed with thirsty friends!
