We came here on Friday for a friend's birthday.  We started out by eating at Kicker's which is downstairs. I wrote a review for the restaurant on their Yelp! page.  We were quite underwhelmed and actually kind of upset with how that experience went. Check out their page to see how that all went.

So, after our very unpleasant experience downstairs, we take our things and start to relocate upstairs in hopes of a much better experience.  Once we got up there, we waited in line for the girl to take our tickets. I had made the joke that it would be funny if it was the girl who took our phone reservations and screwed them all up...I guess I meant funny in theory, not for it to actually happen. Well, when we get up to the front of the line, assuming the owner would go up and let the girl at the ticket booth know, we explained who we were. She got very snotty and said she didn't know what we were talking about. So, we explained it to her in a nutshell and told her that Mr. Pappas, the owner, said we could come in free since we had 3 people with us with birthdays in February. She rolled her eyes, and said, "Fine, follow her." She pointed to the other hostess who took us to be seated. Looked like my joke turned into a reality with the attitude of that girl.

Once we sat, the waitress came right over and took our drink orders. She came back a couple times pretty quickly to check on us. I'd say she checked on us about every 5 minutes for about the first 20.  I still had a large beer from downstairs which took me about an hour to drink (I am a slow drinker sometimes.) Then it seemed like I was waiting forever for someone to come back and see if I would like my empty cup filled. Finally, after another 30 minutes of emptiness, a waitress comes by and grabs my glass and whisks away before I can get a word out. I assume our original waitress would come back after seeing I was empty. She never came back to check on any of us. When the show is over, she comes out and starts handing out all of the receipts. She also brought out a beer and receipt for a friend that was sitting across for me. She never asked for one and still had half of a beer left. We finally flagged her down and told her she didn't want that beer and that she wanted the charge taken off. She agreed and disappeared. We see her back after about 5 minutes handing out more receipts and collecting empties. We waited, and waited, and waited. Finally, we just went over to her and handed her the cost of the beer. No tip. Oh, and that was another thing. The tip was included in everyone's tabs. That would be fine if they actually sat our group together, but yet again, we were sat separate, so there was only a few at each table (4 people left after dinner). Well, the included tip was under 20% and that was all she was going to get from us since her service was under par.  We all gave her money and she never brought back change. Even after being approached about the whole incidence with bringing out a beer that was never ordered. We left and will never go back, which is unfortunate considering the comedians were quite funny. One had me in tears! What a shame!!

Small, squished in...HOT were the negatives.

GREAT comedian, last night (Bozeman). He was HILARIOUS!! Laughed from the moment he hit the stage until he left. I appreciate that the first comedian didn't allow hecklers to ruin the show. He put the heckler in his place. The crowd was great. Not a lot of chatting, talking over the comedian..

Great waitress. She was hustling and did it all with a smile : )

A friend of mine was performing here, so I went. He and the main act were hilarious, but I was really turned off by how security handled some hecklers.

I understand the sudden urge to become Chatty Cathy once you've had a few drinks. But if you don't know how to control your chattiness, why come to a comedy show? The crowd is there to watch/listen to the comedian, not your side conversations about something or other.

We weren't even sitting within earshot -- but we could hear the mumbles of someone trying to talk above the guy with the mic. Security came to kick the person out ... until he realized Ms. Chatterbox is an employee! So she stayed.

So the message you're sending is: We don't care how our employees act, they're staying.

    Well, we're not, then.

Two reasons drew me to this comedy club - knowing someone who was performing there and getting a Groupon. Not sure that I would return for other reasons than these.

The drinks menu on the table was not up to date. I began to order from what looked like only two basic domestics on tap when my server informed me that there were actually other choices. As for food, our group ordered two nacho dishes, one with chicken and one with beef. Both were large servings for the price but not anything exciting. The menu is limited to typical bar food, so I would do dinner some where else before going to a show here.

Also, one of my biggest pet peeves is when businesses do not train their employees or have good communication about how to handle Groupons. When the hostess seated us, she kept all of our group's Groupons. Then, when the server began to take our orders and I mentioned the Groupons, she looked confused and said we needed to present them to her in order to redeem them. I directed her back to the hostess.

Right after the show ended, management turned on the lights and asked us to finish drinks downstairs to the adjoining bar so were able to hang out for a bit. However, most people seemed to have jetted out with this abrupt request. The atmosphere seemed a bit off at the bar because it felt like an out-of-place lounge from a club, with its Top 40 music blasting and tall circular leather booths.

I attend comedy shows all the time (2+ times every month). Joeys is HORRIBLE. The worst I've ever been to by far. I recently attended a show last week. The hecklers took over the show. Nobody was kicked out. Security just watched. I emailed them the next day explaining my displeasure and never received an email or phone call back. Very unprofessional and just horrible all around. If you want to see a GOOD comedy show in the area, go to Ann Arbor Comedy Showcase or Comedy Connxtions in Toledo. Joey's is horrible. Take heed in my warning and advice or you'll have wasted your money yourselves.
I keep trying to give this place more and more tries (I went there again this past weekend)... and it proves time after time how horrible of a "comedy club" this place is.

I frequent this establishment quite a bit and the dinner and show package is excellent. The food at The Prefect Ten is great, the atmosphere and service has always been top notch and the staff is always friendly. I have never been disappointed by a comedian at this club.

Went to Joey's last night to see Carlos Mencia and Juan Villareal. Great show, great atmosphere, great service!

The appetizer menu was the only food available for the show. Having just come from work and not having time for a proper dinner, we opted for the steak bites, the buffalo wings and the calamari. I'd give it 3.5 outta 5 stars. Pretty much what you'd expect for a comedy club menu.

The seating is a little tight, but everywhere in the house has a great view.

Our waitress was great! Attentive but not in-your-face.

Bonus points for the $3 You-Call-It drink specials downstairs after the show!

Just went last night for a work function.  Limited dinner menu + the comedy show for $16 per person.  This deal cannot be beat... especially when the comedy is actually funny!

We saw Matt McClowery (opening act) and Phil Palisaul (main event).  Both were just raunchy enough to make me happy and clean enough so I didn't squirm with co-workers.

They mentioned that you receive a free show for you and 5 friends for your birthday.  Probably only good during the week, but still a great deal.

Show started at 8pm (actually around 8:15) and went until almost 10pm.

The seating isn't the most comfortable but so far I have had quite a few good laughs here, lol. The place is as clean as you could expect a public place to be, but the wait staff seemed overwhelmed... they couldn't remember anyone's drink orders.

I cannot stand this place.  Everytime I have been there it is filled with large groups of chatty middle-aged woman.  I think it must be the number one choice for "Lets get everyone together for so and so's birthday, we should all go to Joey's it will be a hoot" plans.  Once they get there they are in such a large number that chatting and heckling seems like a much better idea then engaging and enjoying the performance(s).  Agrivating!

My friends and I fell in love with Joey's via the on demand feature of Comcast (You should totally go check it out right now.  It's a trainwreck). So we decided to take a little trip to see the stars of tomorrow right in our own backyard.

We opted for the 'dinner and a show' package, that includes a meal at the restaurant downstairs and a ticket to the comedy for a mere $16 (tax and tip included!) The food was pretty meh.  They pulled 3 or 4 of the available entrees off the menu and everything was fairly bland.  However, $2 well drinks!  Even though they tried to charge us full price and we had to remind them of their own special, we got it right (and cheap) in the end.

Another thing about Joey's and the Kickers complex - the drinks are different prices in every part of complex.  It's a little confusing, but the mid-week specials are fairly strong, so that's a minor complaint.  If you like to enjoy things ironically, I highly recommend Joey's.

How does a Frenchman hold his liquor? -----Sorry can't finish that one...

I have seen several good comedians here. This is a great local comedy club to catch some potential up and comers.
This is also a great date place...Dinner and a show! If you do that try the Lake Perch - lightly breaded and pan fried on a bead of rice drizzled with lemon juice and ...mmmmmmmmmm melts in your mouth. Chase it down with a couple of glasses of wine and it gets you in the right mood for the funny stuff.

Open Mic night on Mondays and Tuesdays if you're feeling funny....I'll have to clean up my bit and get ready,

    I see a Yelp! event....

We've seen a few good comedians here, including the house acts. The seating and arrangement are pretty comparable to what you'd find at any comedy club. The drinks are decent, which is important if you're there with your free birthday passes. Once you sign up for their mailing list, you'll get a pass for yourself and some guests the month of your birthday, but it stipulates a drink (two drink?) minimum purchase. Still a good bargain!

I also know some people have set up charity events here, where your organization can get a cut of what's going on that night depending on how many people show up at your invitation. I'm not sure on the details, but what I've heard of it makes it sound like a good option for fund raising.
