Shit coffee and bland food, but at least it's a nice environment and the service is decent.
I was there last weekend and I ordered eggs, hash browns and chicken fried steak. The eggs were done right but the hash browns were bland, the gravy was very bland and the chicken fried steak was super thin and very rubbery. Thank the Gods they had hot-sauce.
Traveling sometimes means finding local family restaurants in small towns. As often as not that means average food at best. But Joshua's was a great find here in Port Angeles. Â I had their "baseball" steak the first night and it was as good as any thing I've had at Morton's or Ruth' Crist, at a fifth of the price. Â I don't exaggerate.
Back for breakfast today. My dad told me on a hunting trip (I was 10) that when you are in an unfamiliar small town a need a meal you can count on, order chicken fried steak. This is a breakfast specialty at Joshua's, and I went with Dad's recommendation. He was right. Good!!
It isn't fancy, but it's cheap and the service was perfect -- homey and good-humored. Â Don't miss it.
I give it 2 stars instead of one because it was open late, but I should of went to the Wendy"s. The rib eye steak was almost half fat, the vegis where dried out carrots. The chef salad was ok but costs 14.00 dollars, and as lori"s review stated the cobble was just a blob of blackberries with a piece of cake that looked like someone took a bite from. Run away.
Review Source:we saw the sign "special: blackberry cobbler" off of the Joshua's Restaurant nearby the Best Western we stayed at and thought it would be a good place to eat dinner. Â the chicken and mashed potatoes were horrific, the chicken wasn't hot at all and we asked to have it reheated. Â (KFC chicken was much better!) Â the stuffed cod was a little better except that was a bit cold as well but a little better as far as the taste was concerned. the baked potato that came with it was by far the best item so I shared that. Â we tried to make the best out of it but when the blackberry cobbler came out, it was by far the worst item on the menu. Â it was blackberry slob in a bowl with vanilla ice cream on top and some overbaked densely dry piece of cake. ick...
