Port O'Connor is right next to the Gulf of Mexico and, as such, should probably be known for their seafood. This area does have good seafood and in abundance. However, Josie's has the BEST burgers around.
    Surprising huh?
The buns are toasted, the burgers are big and the fries are home cut and fresh. Yumm-Oh all the way. The Breakfast tacos are also very good, huge tacos but very yummy. I reccomend this place to anyone who lives in or goes to Port Lavaca, Seadrift, Port O'connor and all points in between. It's a shack but it's good! This place used to be BYOB but now they serve beer. They have a cantina in the back where local bands now play at night.
    Sheck it out

This is a great place to bring your own fresh fish. Add some toppings and tortillas and you have some great fish fajitas. It is also BYOB, which is nice. The chips and salsa were nothing amazing. Come here with your own caught fish and you will not be disappointed.

    Gigantic breakfast tacos.

    Gigantic burgers.

They do a GREAT job of cooking your own fish.

Only thing I have had over the years here that I felt was poor was the fajitas.  I think they put soy on the meat.

Don't know what these other reviewers ate here, but we were immediately put on guard by the seemingly canned tomato sauce with a few japs and onions thrown in they call salsa. We decided we'd try nachos before eating full dinner. Wow. (Not a good wow.) Deluxe nachos $10+, meat, bean & cheese with a scoop of guacamole. No lettuce, tomato, no sour cream. Noticed the guy across from us ordered green sauce so when our waitress returned, we asked for some. She said they didn't have any. I would skip this place...horrible. If it were possible to give negative stars, I would.

Our waitress was horribly rude. There was another waitress that spoke to us a couple of times, and she seemed really nice. Don't know what was up with the one waitress, guess she doesn't like her job. Too bad, we tip really well. This was the first time we have EVER walked away without tipping.

We left in went to Bubba's Boiling Spot down the road in Seadrift, which was AMAZING!

While visiting Port O Connor Captain Bob suggested this place. He told us they would cook our fish any way we liked Mexican style.

So, we arrived with our own Red fish from our fishing trip packed in an ice chest. We had been cooking via camp fire for the past 2 days so I might have been over excited about eating at a restaurant. But, as I recall it was a full 5 stars for my taste buds - and just a notch above primitive camping ambiance wise.

The cook/owner (sorry I do not remember your name) took our fish filleted them and made some amazing fajitas and fish tacos and a whole sizzling fish served on a cast iron platter - all served family style.

I thought it was awesome that we could supply our own fresh fish and new where it came from while still being prepared perfectly by an expert cook / chef.

FYI You do not have to supply your own fish and everything is cooked with lots of spice er HEAT! Love it!

Great salsa with some jalapeño heat.  Bring your own fish filets and they'll cook it for you. Fresh fish fajitas are fantastic; cooked with onions, tomatoes, jalapeños and spices.

Restaurant decor is nonexistent, but the food makes up for it!  This is a must if you've gone fishin'

Prices are reasonable.  There is no price break if you supply the fish!
