The place can get royally packed on a Saturday night! My friend and I ventured out to Mascoutah because she knew the bartender and I had wanted to see what all the hype was about regarding this place. I'm not sure I understand the hype, but the drinks were a nice surprise. My gin and tonic was rather delightful even though they didn't have Bombay Sapphire. Just keep telling yourself: I'm in Mascoutah. I had to do it occasionally to bring myself back to reality.
This seems like a type of establishment I would come to if I lived closer and a Cards game were on. I did enjoy their pool tables, jukebox and outdoor designated smoking area. Overall -- it's just another dive bar. Nothing special.
Homemade $.99 Tacos on Monday (after 4 pm). Get there before 5 or after 7:30 pm unless you don't mind waiting. On busy nights, it can take 30-45 minutes to get your food. Â The wait is worth it in my opinion, and the time passes quickly. Â Good place to people watch and meet friends. Â Homemade Thai special every Tuesday is also worth taking in. Â Only one Thai offering that changes weekly. Â Chicken Pad Thai is mild, the rest are spicier but not 'melt your face off' hot. Â They do have ground thai chile's and something I would call a thai salsa of sorts to kick up the heat level. All Thai Specials come with Egg Drop Soup. Â Egg Rolls and Chicken Sates are also homemade. Â Outside patio is nice when the weather cooperates. Â Six flat screens make this an excellent place to watch Nascar, Cardinal games and Football....if the game is on all you have to do is ask and they'll try to find it for you.
Order food at the window! Â Daily drink specials.
