Another off-the-beaten-path place I wouldn't have found without some local input.
Thursday lunch options included an AYCE soup and salad buffet, with the soup choices being Bean and Ham, Cheese and Turtle. Â
I went with the Half Tenderloin sandwich with a fruit cup on the side. Â Tenderloin sandwich is a staple in the area - a huge, thin slab of tender pork, breaded and deep fried, served on a bun. Â Once again, I was flumoxed when asked what I wanted on my sandwich - this time I asked for recommendations - mayo and either sweet or dill pickle chips. Â I asked for both pickles, so I can see which I liked better. Â Definitely, hands down, the sweet pickles did it for me.
They have a German dinner buffet the second Tuesday of each month, complete with traditional dress and live music. Â I've not tried it, but I may try to plan my next visit to coincide with this day!
