My wife loved this place, though I always thought it was kind of dirty. But now thanks to the new management it's gone downhill fast. The food was always okay, just stir fry food...most of the time the cook managed not to put the spatula with raw chicken in the rice he was serving...but now I just say "no" to Kanpai.
Review Source:Based on the appearance of the exterior, we were expecting a high class experience. Â It just looks like an upscale hibachi place. But after getting seated, the dining area looks a little dingy and it definitely doesn't match the exterior appeal. Â The service and entertainment were fine and friendly. Â However, the fried rice wasn't that good and the worst part is that they charge you EXTRA if you want fried rice ($2.10 per serving). Â Fried rice is part of the hibachi experience. How are you going to charge someone for it? Â There is only once choice of salad dressing and its mustard based. Â Its the least asian dressing I've ever tasted. I've been to Ichiban for lunch and thought it was much better!
Review Source:This is an extremely good Japanese steakhouse! Â Out of a group of 6 of my friends, 3 of us favor this restaurant over all others, and the other three favor shogun or ichiban over this one. Â However, we all agree that it has some really good food. Â The ginger sauce and the fried rice are *awesome*. Â The staff has always been very nice, and the food is normally served fairly quickly. Â You should plan an hour to an hour and a half when eating here (it's not meant to be an in and out type place). Â Lunch is significantly cheaper than dinner, so if you have the option to choose, choose lunch. Â The only difference between the two is soup, sherbet and the flaming shrimp appetizer (2 pc). Â I highly recommend this place!
