The Kast Net is a wonderful restaurant, that is out of the way for most, but worth the drive. Definitely worth stopping if you're going to the coast.
It's a modgepodge of areas all squished together to make one, not beautiful but comfortable space.
The menu is fairly basic, but the special board appears to be where all of the best dishes are located. My fiancé and I went because of the stories heard about the stuffed grouper, and it wasn't on the menu, but appears to always be on the special board.
My fiancé ordered the stuffed grouper and I ordered the ribeye steak. Both came with salad and steamed broccoli. Mine with a baked potato and hers on a bed of rice, which appeared to be fried. Both were unbelievable portions, as most appeared to be, since most tables appeared to ask for to-go boxes. The steak was cooked to a perfect medium and tasted great. The grouper was stuffed with shrimp and lobster and was delicious, though slightly undercooked in the middle, due to the size I imagine.
Overall GREAT service, everyone was nice, polite, quick, and efficient.
Also, the desert board alone makes me want to go back!
