It's not the best Mexican food I've ever had, but it is the best I've had (so far) in Western Kansas. Â Get the green chili french fries (truly a Mexican American food item)... absolutely THE BEST thing on the menu. Â
There was a group of six of us and although the service was a little slow, our waitress was friendly and accommodating. Â We all enjoyed several Mexican food items from the menu and enjoyed a few Coronas while we were at it, even leaving a little room to try a couple of desserts.
It's a 30-minute drive for me, but I think it's worth it. Â We'll be back.
remember in grade school when they'd have taco tuesday? remember the stale tortilla shells slathered in ladles of greasy, flavorless hamburger and topped with bright orange cheese? remember the salsa reminiscent of marinara sauce? yeah... this is where you can go to relive all of those fine childhood memories.
kc's provides the sysco food service version of mexican. it's what i should have expected in small town usa, but the cook spoke spanish... i thought i was safe! this is not to say that the food was inedible, it was... food. it filled me up, and for that i can't complain. the flavor train, however, had left the station. i'm not even sure the tracks run through these parts.
