i've been to a lot of small towns in my life, but i don't think i've ever had as unfriendly a welcome as i received walking into ramble-n-restaurant this morning. a full 3 minutes after we walked in the door every single person was completely silent and still staring directly at us. it was as if i had just walked in holding a severed human head.
needless to say our waitress never cracked a smile. the food was fine, your basic diner breakfasts of flapjacks and eggs. oddly, they carry no coffee creamer.
the sign on the door says "howdy," but it might as well say "scram."
