If you find yourself in Jackson, WY and you want a good cup of coffee/espresso/cappuccino, get in your car and take the short drive to the scenic hamlet of Kelly, because you will not find coffee worth drinking in Jackson!
I was surprised at the quality of the cappuccino I received on my recent visit to Kelly on the Gros Ventre (pron: Grow Vahn) simply because I'm not used to finding coffee this good in an out-of-the-way location.
Speaking of the location: with the Grand Tetons as your backdrop, you may be lucky enough to encounter bison (Caution: if bison are in the parking lot, stay in your car or in the shop until they pass through. We encountered a larger herd just a couple of miles from here than any of the ones we saw in Yellowstone!), moose, deer or other wild animals you wouldn't normally associate with a coffee house. Â I got a kick out of the U.S. Post Office adjoining the property that is barely more than a shack.
Kelly on the Gros Ventre is, however, no "one-trick pony" - my rare roast beef and cheddar with red onion, horseradish and mayo on a whole grain ciabatta roll was as good as any sandwich I have ever had.
