I went to the Weal Inn based on Kelly S.'s review. Â I was very excited to try the infamous Weal Burger. Â I have no idea what the hell she was talking about because, while the burger was sizable (1/2 lb.), it had ZERO taste and was drippy. Â I hate when the bottom bun gets way too soggy. Â The friend I went with agreed. Â She did not even finish hers halfway. Â It was $6.95 for the burger with toppings and chips and $1.25 extra for french fries. Â We got the fries and they were okay...I guess. Â 2 Burgers and fries with a singular draft beer was close to $19 (overpriced for the quality and environment). Â Honestly, we could've just went to Applebee's and fared better.
The Inn itself was a larger-sized dark dive bar. Â Nothing real interesting or inviting. Â Maybe the chalkboard in the ladies bathroom. Â If you must go, try Tuesdays when they have a burger special. Â It was not worth the $6.95 or a return trip otherwise. Â Too bad because it's super close to my house. Â As for it needing a visit paid by the Travel and Food channel, well, Ms. Kelly S. must be smoking it up pretty good in addition to excelling at creative writing.
I like the Weal Inn. Â I don't know why, but I love a good dive bar. Â There is an upscale fancy new Sports bar right across the street called the Skybox. Â Want a cold beer and a really good bar burger? Â Weal Inn. Â Want overpriced beers and deep fried bar food and a bunch of digital TV's? Â Skybox. Â Weal Inn has the best bar burger in the area. Â If by chance you are in the mood for the best gourmet burger ever? Â Sparkies is across the street.
Review Source:Who would have thought? The Weal has the WORLDS' BEST BURGERS! Â Passing along M-59 one day, we saw a sign for the weal special - $3 burgers by 6:00pm.....so, we decided to stop. The burger's are to die for....or live for...they are just amazing! I have had the regular Weal, The Weal with Cheese, and the Weal Swiss and mushroom. Out of this world! Side note: the fries are awesome and so are their Long Island Iced Teas :) Most definitely recommend! This place should be paid a visit by the Travel or Food channel :)
