This place was....okay...But not a place I would return. Not one thing special about any of the food i got, and i find it surprising that a breakfast place can have crappy bread/toast, but they did. Tiny wheat bread that was barely toasted. good job screwing that one up....

Our server was completely clueless, was barely seen, brought us the wrong order and ran off before i could realize it. Overall not the smoothest running operation.

Don't expect the prices to be much better either.

I love breakfast so this place is special to me.  I go with my whole family and the little kids LOVE it.  My favorite dish is the french toast with strawberries and whipped cream !!! Awesome way to start your day.   Kind of a through back in many ways but the food is always good and the services is fast and friendly.  You have to get there early on holiday weekends or plan on waiting until a seat is available.  The prices were very fair for the amount of food you get is ridiculous.  I didn't like the fake syrup so I buy the maple syrup extra that they offer.  My kids don't like the taste of it so they eat the fake stuff.

This is what I call the "Sysco Special." We were hoping for the best breakfast ever and, unfortunately, Keyes Pancake House is far from it.  How come restaurants don't know that fresh ingredients result in fantastic tasting food?  I ordered the salsa omelet (salsa from a jar), home fries (potatoes from a can), and wheat toast (institutional size and style bread). My husband ordered pancakes that were undercooked and was able to buy-up to real maple syrup (or eat the high fructose corn syrup and water mixture on the table).  Fresh is better....not everyone wants your overly processed food that you call meals.

I'm only giving this a 3 stars for the service. The older waitress was very abrupt and we felt rushed. Good if your in a huge hurry-go to keyes. I ordered the Bacon waffle and it was delish, my boyfriend ordered the speical # 5 and it was HUGE, 3 eggs, home fries, big slice of ham, and toast. Ok prices and decent menu.

Keyes has a way of letting me down in the years I've been going. The upside of this place, it probably has the most seating in all of Old Forge, their pancakes are decent, and its fun to reenact the scene from Fargo while waiting for your food, "Pancakes again? Can't we get a steak or something?" "Pancakes house".
The down side, if you are there for anything besides breakfast it can get a bit suspect, medium-well hamburgers are often very pink, they also want to charge you for refills on your soda at $2.25 a pop.
Even with those negatives its still an alright place to grab a cup of coffee and some breakfast if you are in the area.

OK food. Quick service. Good for kids.

That's pretty much all I've got to say. It's a good old greasy spoon diner with prices to match. Would I go out of my way to visit? No, but if you're in town (or near it), sure.

In search of a huge breakfast? Look no farther my friend. Keyes Pancake House is great spot to sit, not feel rushed, and eat classic breakfast grub.

Within seconds of seating myself, the waitress came over to take my drink order. She was nice and responsive to my requests. I could see how this place could really fill up on a Sunday morning in July, but this was mid May and quite calm.

I decided to go with the Western Omelet; a good choice indeed. The grilled red peppers and onions were very tasty. A little hot sauce and ketchup gelled this main dish together; leaving both my pallet and belly with a perma grin.

All and all, Keyes is a place where you pay for what you get. I got a lot of food, but I paid for it. My order of grilled home fries, two sausage patties, the western omelet, and Coffee, neared me to $15 before tip. Which I generously added to.

I look forward to when I'm in town again.

Oh, and there's a Deer head on the wall.

No complaints but no huge praises either. I guess the praise would be that this is nestled in the beautiful quaint Adirondack town of Old Forge just past most of the gift shops on the main road in town. Like the other reviewer said, this is a typical greasy spoon, it's got a typical breakfast/lunch menu with good prices and decent food. They've got a lot of seating, if you go on a weekend you might still have to wait a bit for a seat but the best part of waiting is you can check out all the local snapshots of black bears from the area which is cool to see and really adds to the Adirondack charm.

Great breakfast at a great price.  Typical greasy spoon with an emphasis on pancakes.  They have a couple Mexican breakfasts, too.  It was super crowded when we went, but the wait was quick and so was the service.
