Went here a few nights ago for their fish fry at the recommendation of one of the locals and they definitely did not disappoint.  Our fish fry came with rolls, homemade applesauce, side salads and steamed vegetables in addition to the expected fish (deliciously done) and fries, so come hungry!

While prices can be a bit high, depending on what you're getting, it's a great upscale place to have a nice quiet and relaxing dinner.  The wine and beer list, however, was surprisingly less expensive than expected.

There is something everyone should know when going out to eat at nicer restaurants "up north" - and that applies to Wisconsin and New York (and I'm sure Michigan, etc. etc.) - you're going to get pricey food that is good and plentiful, wood paneling, waitresses (not waiters usually) with white blouses and dark, knee length skirts, and few vegetarian options.

The Knotty Pine offers all of these, although it's a step up on others such as the Steak House down the road.  They've received a Wine Spectator award several times and have a CIA educated chef, but it's still and old school upstate NY kind of joint.

Service was good, food was good (and actually a few vegetarian options which is unusual) but a bit on the heavy side (also typical of up north dining - it gets cold so you need something that sticks to your ribs), and the wine list was certainly the best I've seen going out in the woods lately.  One interesting touch was the rolls with applesauce and whipped butter that were provided at the beginning of the meal.  The rolls were nice and doughy, and the applesauce appeared home made.  We asked the server if there was a particular or correct way to eat them, and she told us that she just ate the applesauce and ignored the bread.  I thought it was all good together.

A nice spot to go get a steak, lobster, etc., but be prepared to spend a little money, especially if you're looking to have a bottle with dinner.  You won't get an amuse bouce or contemporary china, but overall a nice place to celebrate your honeymoon in style up north.
