I have NEVER had such amazing onion rings before!!!! Kind of strange to be finding them at a ski lodge but boy, these onion rings were fried in a mysterious batter that came with a light sweetness, fried to a perfect crisp, and left the onions soft and cooked inside. One thing I hate is when you bite an onion ring and the entire onion comes out of its sleeve and you're forced to slurp up the falling onion. But this onion would break if you bit it. The flavors and textures of the batter:onion were completely compatible (not just a good outside and bad inside).
And then there's the garlic fries. Fries were cooked through and not raw. Perfect crisp outside, but not overly fried.
I don't know what it is about this place that makes their fried foods so amazingly delicious!!! (Maybe the price? It definitely isn't your everyday fast food). But next time I might opt out of skiing and just sit here with a few orders of onion rings and garlic fries while I wait for my family to finish their rounds.
It's hard to beat outside seating by fire pit on a gorgeous day out on the snow! Â We grabbed fish and Korean BBQ chicken tacos for lunch, and they were really good. Â I also had a hot chocolate, which was super! Â They had burgers upstairs, but downstairs had a nice spot for bagels, sandwiches, burritos, tacos, salads, desserts, and cupcakes! Â The actual bar food was pretty decent also - flat bread pizza was yummy.
Review Source:We sat outside by one of the fire pits (which as it turns out doesn't generate much heat), inside they've got a sports bar thing going. Our waitress was cool, though super busy... we didn't see her all that often. Aside from a small drink mixup it was all good, their nachos were more or less as advertised and our beers hit the spot. I wouldn't rule them out for apre ski if you're right there.
