Kylie's Diner

Kylie's Diner is located in West Winfield just south of Main Street and across the street from Village Hall. This hometown restaurant serves up breakfast and lunch, plus dinner on Fridays. The breakfast offerings include pancakes, French toast, waffles, egg dishes, omelets, homemade hash, and sides. The lunch/dinner menu items include burgers, hot & cold sandwiches, salads, comfort foods, fried seafood, and sides. Daily specials are offered and most items are under $10.

The atmosphere inside is very homey with plenty of cow decor & trinkets on the walls. The place offers counter seating (u shaped) where the regulars hang out and the staff chats with them. There are tables in the adjacent dining area.

I stopped in at Kylie's for a lunch break and sat myself at a table in the dining room. The waitress promptly took my order for lunch, which was a Grilled Reuben ($4.95) with a side of potato salad ($2.25). The food arrived to my table in under 15 minutes

The Grilled Reuben tasted pretty darn good, which had thin slices of corned beef, saurkraut, cheese, and 1000 Island dressing between two pieces of grilled buttery bread. The heaping scoop of homemade potato salad was very dense and creamy, dill pickle chips on the side. I finished the whole plate of food.

Though my food was served in timely order, the service was very laid back. After I was done with lunch, I waited for about 5 minutes (expecting a check to be presented) as I watched the waitress serve food and converse with the regulars. I eventually got up and walked up to the counter with payment in hand. The waitress already knew the correct amount for my lunch and cashed me out.
