La Cocina Michoacana

Food is horrible--and NOT Michoacana.  And yes, I know, as  my wife es del D.F. y su padre es de Ciudad Hidalgo, Edo. de Michoacan.  Small, hole-in-the-wall place that advertises its heritage both on its website and menu, but when attempting to place an order, was told that they were all out of the comida Michoacana (aporreadillo, uchepos, corundas).  Amazing to me in that I can walk through any city/pueblito in Michoacan at any time of day and find hundreds of street vendors, mercados, and restaurants serving same.  In Western Michoacan, se dice:  "si no hay aporreadillo, no hay desayuno;" so not sure how I could come to your restaurant and be told, "no hay aporreadillo."  My wife ended up getting enchiladas that appeared to have been reconstituted from a microwave dinner kit.  I had a chile relleno that was filled with cheese that resembled movie theater nacho sauce.  Chicken was rancid, salad was uneatable.  They appear to have a complement of burritos (which are NOT Mexican food--they were invented in Cd. Juarez during the Revolution to be sold as cheap grub to soldiers and originally had no name--but the inventor delivered off the back of a "little donkey") but that's not why I went there.  Ladies, you have a LOT of work ahead of you, and should not advertise what you don't deliver.  To the people who really are from Michoacan:  mantengan su distancia (keep your distance)!
