Excellent little bar and grill. Â In the middle of nowhere at a 4 way stop. Â Gas on one corner, Lagorios on the other. Â While passing through, it is a must do.
The Oysters are to die for. Â With a homemade hot sauce, perfectly grilled. Â If you don't care to have the oyster dish, they've got you covered there too. Â
Friendly, hometown, "Cheers" kinda feel. Â Add to your bucket list today.
A one star is too good for this place. We have been there twice. Once for dinner. We had the hamburger. It was a frozen beef patty on a cold bun. The fries were good. The second time, my friend and I went for lunch and decided to split fries. Â The waitress asked if we wanted garlic fries that they were very good! Â They were just disgusting, the bottom of the bag, limply, and topped with Costco's bottle minced garlic which then made the fries soggy. Â Never going there again. Â I should have complained right then and there but didn't want to cause a scene.
Review Source:I honestly am not sure what else they serve, because I was blinded by the oysters and pesto bread.
It was cold, and rainy, and our jeans were soaked. Â Naturally, a beer, and some barbequed oysters sounded perfect as he headed out of town.
Super casual dive bar, and the oysters were served in a HUGE aluminum tub (I think we ordered two dozen for the four of us). Â They were dripping in garlic butter...
You MUST get multiple orders of the pesto bread. Â Sure, you think one order is enough? Â Wait until you realize that you can get another order after you've eaten the oysters, and just stick them in the butter...wait a bit...then fish em out. Â Gluttonous? Â Whatever.
Bar and grill with decent food. Â The burgers are pretty good, and the food is reasonably priced. Â The local barflies flirt hopelessly with the seasoned bar staff, which makes for good people watching. Â Probably not a good place for a vegetarian, but otherwise the menu is standard greasy bar fare. Â We did not try the famed oysters. Â The walls are nicely decorated with branding marks from local ranches.
I'm not sure what all the other reviews about bad service are about. Â Don't expect a TGIFriday's eating experience and you'll do fine. Â Bathrooms are a little sketchy (no toilet in the men's?) but not retch-worthy.
Lagorio's on Highway 4 in the little country town of Farmington, CA, population of 230, serves up the best "Grilled Oysters" ever!! With Lagorio's special delectable sauce, they're so yummy a 1/2 dozen is just a tease and will leave you wanting more!!! Lagorio's also won 1st Place in the County for their Chili, and has a huge trophy to show for it!! Â We also tried the Tri-Tip Sandwich which is also a favorite; and although we didn't try it, the Philly Cheese Sandwich looked absolutely delicioso!!! Â The service and friendly disposition of the employees was warm and inviting, and really makes the whole Lagorio's experience something to look forward to. Â When in Calaveras County stop by Lagorio's, you won't be disappointed!!
Review Source:Perfect place to go if your looking for flat beer, overpriced food and rude ass staff.. I came here dying a weekday so I might have got there b list staff... If its like this on the weekends it's a wonder there still in business! Won't be back for sure..... The guy running the BBQ was super nice but that's the only good thing I could think of to say about this dive.....
Review Source:Friday night is the night to go. They have their BBQ going. I love their veggie/ fruit mix. Pesto bread is always a must. Their chilli cheese fries are yummy. Though I didn't really care for the garlic fries. They had worchestire sauce on them. I prefer to chill out on the back patio. Picnic table style.
Review Source:Come here and order a swiss cheeseburger with mushrooms. It is delicious!! I swear, you meat lovers will love it! You might also consider contributing to your experience by throwing some sauteed onions on there, sounds like it would make the burger complete. Granted I created the combo, they created the burger. I remember it being juicy and delicious which for a well done patty is rare. When I did eat meat I had to have my meat well done, ALWAYS! So I was always seeking juicy flavorful "NON PINK" meats. Lagorio's was a nice stop-n-go Grill with great service. I will for sure give good recommendations.....I do have one suggestion. Add some vegetarian dishes too the menu. It would be greatly appreciated! Other then that this place is a great hang out with great food, and you should check it out!
Review Source:I have a love of small towns - not just where everyone knows your name, but where you can learn their stories, enjoy their company, and have a round with the locals. Â Lagorio's fits that bill perfectly.
The food is your fairly typical bar food (I was there on an idle Wednesday, so I don't know about the steak on Fridays. Â The beer selection was fairly good, and everything was reasonably priced.
More importantly, I got to talk to some lovely people, all locals, who really made the trip worthwhile. Â I found them to be marvelous and interesting, and the main reason I'd go back again!
I stop at Lagorio's everytime I am headed to Arnold. BBQ oysters is the tradition . It's like dive bar meets backyard BBQ. Nice. The locals at the bar will give you the stink eye for sure, so don't put up with their crap. They are just pissed off that they have wasted their entire lives sitting at the bar in F-ing Farmington instead of doing something with their lives. So if you make this a quick "squat and gobble", and totally ignore the yokels... you'll be happy you did.
Review Source:Decent fast food. Â Full bar. Â Very friendly staff. Â Nice vibe. Â Given they're in the Central Valley I was a little surprised that neither vegetables nor fruit are on the menu.
The daytime crowd varies from families on their way to/from the High Sierra to local red necks to bikers (the motorized variety). Â I'd wager that there are fewer families and more locals in there at night.
