The Lakehouse

My fiance and I went here because it's right down the road from where we live and there was a $50 for $30 deal here on yelp.  Figured if the food wasn't that great it wouldn't be a total loss since the coupon.  

The place looks decent from the outside but once you step into the dining area it looks like a run down old double wide trailer.  The staff was very friendly but seemed as everybody just had a laid back kind of attitude.

I ordered a burger and my fiance ordered a turkey sandwich. We also got the calamari.  After ordering, the guy waiting on us came back and said that they were out of an ingredient that was part of my burger, I agreed to a substitution thinking nothing of it but after overhearing a couple of other orders from diners around me, it seemed as tho they were out of quite a few ingredients. When the calamari was first brought out i wanted to send it back, it was covered in grease and the portion size was ridiculous for the amount they were charging.  I figured what ever, had the coupon deal, it was still worth it.  When our meals came I thought the same thing I had thought when the calamari was brought out, send it back.  The person bringing our food out spilled the french fries from one of our plates onto our table while setting them down.  He quickly  picked all the fries off the table and put them back onto my plate. Seriously?  Didn't matter tho, the fries were crap anyways and I didn't eat them. They were way too greasy and looked over cooked but soggy too.  It looked like they were trying to make their own fries but they don't know how (cut, soak, fry, then re-fry before serving).  The burger was over cooked, I asked for medium and it was cooked till any favor remaining was gone.  It was like eating a big brick of ground beef without any flavoring, not even salt or pepper.

This place has some potential but is doomed to fail if it doesn't change.  Seems like the perfect restaurant for the TV show restaurant impossible...

Terrible restaurant. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Good food although the atmosphere is more attune to a loud bar setting not really family dining.   The owner/employees are a little rough looking and the interior decor is missing heating and air vent covers etc.  You can sometimes hear foul language coming from the bar into the dinning area.  We've eaten there 3 times and the folks were always courteous and polite and the food was good.
