My wife and I stopped for lunch and to shop. We each got a Reuben, it was the worst sandwich I have ever had. The meat was very tough and sliced so thick I could not even bite it. I brought it back to the counter (something I never do). The cashier didn't hesitate to get me a turkey sandwich instead. My wife just threw hers away.
I thought I could make it up to her in the retail store. So over priced; we left and went to McDonalds.

If I could give this place no stars I would.  I ordered a french dip sandwich, what I got was a piece of charcoal that was completely inedible.  They needed to spend less time burning the sandwich and more time cooking the raw french fries.  I was just passing through and thought it would be a good place to stop for lunch but my advice is just keep on driving.  I wouldn't even recommend their  pecan pie.  There are mom and pop fruit stands much closer to the highway that have peaches if that is all you want and if you want food - don't do it.

Lane Orchards is a middle Georgia staple in the heart of Peach County.  They have a cafe, a large farm with various produce, shop with food items and baked goods, and little tours.

The one thing that I cannot understand, and if someone from Lane can please explain this to us, what the heck is up with the high prices!?  This is GEORGIA.  The peaches are grown RIGHT THERE ON THE PREMISES!  Quit charging us locals the transportation costs and everything else and make it affordable for us to actually keep stopping by over and over rather than going to Kroger or Publix to buy out of state peaches for much less.  In Massachusetts, of all places, when you go to an apple orchard, for example, you leave with bushels of apples for a heck of a deal and come back for more.  This is not what I feel here.  I want to keep coming back, but if buying fresh peaches is going to dent my wallet, then I'd rather patronize the big supermarket chains.

If you like peaches like i do then you will love this place. It is as fresh as fresh can be ! I mean the farm is right next to the market... it was my second time there. The first time was 3 years ago and i haven't stopped comparing peaches to those ever since, so i was more than happy to pass by there once again. They even do peaches sorbet... everything peaches  =)  They have a part where they show you the process that the peaches are going through.
The first time i did not understand why people were buying the big boxes of peaches (16 quarts) after eating them it all made sense. So this time i didn't make the same mistake, i took the big box !! And i can tell you that nothing compares to Georgia peaches !!
I wish i was living closer to enjoy them during the season !!

    Love going here!

Usually stop by for the peach cobbler and pick up some fresh produce.

In fall they have a corn maze

This is a great pit-stop if you're traveling through the area. It's a nice big retail store and if you have the time, I bet the farm tours are cool.

The retail store is full of tasty stuff depending on the season, but the prices are pretty absurd. Ten bucks for a 16oz jar of apple butter? $1.75 for a habanero praline only about an inch wide and 1/4 inch thick? Yipes!

So I did pick up some overpriced goodies, but I also love the fact that the produce is fresh and local. I got a bunch of fresh peaches, stems and leaves still attached, that will make a fantastic pie tomorrow.

Not to be missed is the fresh peach soft-serve ice cream. It was well worth the $3 for a small cup - it tasted like a peach creamsicle. I've never had peach soft-serve before, and it was great to see small flecks of peach flesh dotted in the ice cream.

I got some baked goods to go, and the peach fritter was good on the fritter part but not so much on the peach (couldn't taste any peachiness). I have a fried peach pie and a pecan bar still waiting to be tried, so hopefully those will be better.

The staff were all very nice and the whole place was spotless - definitely a nice place to stop, stretch, and use the facilities before picking up a nibble to head back on the road. I'd definitely stop by again next time I'm headed through Macon, if only for more peach soft-serve!

Stopped by on a road trip up 75. Was definitely worth the detour! Pretty views along the way. Once you get there, there's samples to try all kind of peach deliciousness. Plus you can walk out to the processing plant and see how they sort and package the peaches (sooo cool!)  Of course, some pecan pie and peach cobbler to go is a must. Just a tip, the large peach cobbler is HUGE!

VIBE:   Fun stop at exit 149 along I-75.  Popular stop that is usually busy with a lot of visitors.  About 3 miles away but on nice road with pecan groves, peach orchards and corn fields on each side.  Something for everyone.  Tractors for kids to play on, restaurant, ice cream.  During season watch peach sortingline and packing on elevated walkway in the plant.
BUY THE:  fresh peaches, pecans, strawberries, boiled peanuts, jelly, watermelon.  There are many more types of peaches than I imagined.

Lane's is a tourist trap. Cobbler is an overly sweet glob with very few peaches. Very pricey items. Ugh.

This place was okay.  We'd seen lots of signs and I had high hopes.  I got a fried chicken sandwich and basically got 2 chicken tenders on toast.  The tenders were good but there should have been at least 1 more tender on the sandwich and some nicer fixings.

So, entree aside, this place shoulda had amazing dessert, and it was just okay.  I had high hopes for the cobbler, and it was fine, just not surprisingly good.  We got some peach bread too, which was pretty good.

I have enjoyed Lane peaches for years, and my wife has wanted to stop at their farms/retail off I-75 for several years on the way back from Florida. This is a tacky, over-priced tourist trap. Maybe the farm tour would be more enjoyable, don't know, but the drive to the facility past the pecan trees was the only worthwhile part of the visit for us.

Yes, this place is a little touristy but they deserve. They came from a small farm to this and are very successful at it. We did the tour of the orchards, which was quite informative. The peach cobbler had high expectations coming in and met all of them. Definitely get it with ice cream. We also ordered peach ice cream later, which was recommended, and I'm happy I did. There were fresh cut peaches in it and, as someone mentioned, it's more like yogurt anyway. I did buy several Lane peaches down the road, where it was cheaper, let them ripen for 2 days, and I think they were polished off in a matter of minutes. Can't beat them!

We were looking for a good country store/road side produce stand.  This is a large, slick market with lots of souvenir merchandise.  Not at all what we were looking for.  Go to Ellis Brothers Pecans instead in Vienna GA instead.  So much better and so much less expensive.  Lanes wanted $7 for a jar of peach preserves, and Ellis had a slightly smaller jar of local made peach preserves for under $3.

This place was a complete and utter disappointment. I looked all over the internet and travel forums to find the "best" Georgia peaches while on a road trip through the state. Over and over again I was referred to Lane Orchards. So, I drove 40 minutes out of my way (there and back) to visit the "farm."  We arrived and could immediately tell it was a total tourist trap- but maybe the crowds were justified? This is just like any other road side gift shop across the US- full of junky t-shirts, memorabilia, and packaged foods that you can buy anywhere.

And now, the peaches. They were rock hard and cold- just like you can buy at any grocery store. We inquired about this to several employees, requesting and stating that we were in search of a rip peach we could eat right now. They explained that the peaches they sold were picked early and refrigerated so that they could last long enough to get to a store. Now, I understand this process and the benefits but not what I expected to find at the farm itself.

The cobbler was  mediocre at best. I have had much better peach cobbler on multiple occasions. The peach ice cream was pretty good but nothing to write home about.

Don't waste your time. You can get better peaches that are completely organic at Whole Foods or just some delicious, ripe ones at many road-side stands or farmers markets.

I hate to be the first person to give Lane's a rating other than a 4 or 5, but I felt like it was a bit of a tourist trap and extremely overpriced.  On the way to Lane's you pass several people selling peaches for much less, so after going to Lane's I returned to one of those.

Price aside, my trip to Lane's was enjoyable.  It was a nice period of time to stretch my legs on a trip from Chicago to Florida.  I had the peach ice cream which was awesome with little chunk of peaches in it.  It is more of a soft serve/ frozen yogurt than ice cream.

One thing that I really liked about Lane's was that it was dog friendly.  They have a dog run outside.  It was a really hot day when we stopped and they allowed me to bring my dog inside the air conditioned store.  Lane's always allows dogs inside which surprised me... especially since I have a 100 pound greyhound!

What an incredible place. We plan our trips around a stop here. A fun drive about 5 miles off I75. Beautiful. The experience once inside is second to none. Watching the workers bring in the fresh peaches, sort through them and they package them is so much fun. All children will absolutely LOVE this place!! the food is so much fun too. Cobblers, ice cream and regular lunch dishes make this place a great stop! Be prepared to buy a ton of peaches and take them with you too!!

Great place to pull over and visit if you want to tack on a few extra pounds while traveling through Georgia.   The orchard is massive and the fruit is plentiful and good.   The adjoining restaurant is good and offers something for everyone.   The peach cobbler is a local hit, but I personally found it a tad bit too sweet for my northern palate.  You must try the unique syrups in their tasting room.   Oh, and the roasted and salted pecans, you will literally eat an entire bag - they are just that good.  As for Lane's, I'm a fan!

My 4 * refers to the Peach Ice Cream only! Now that that's out of the way, the ice cream is really really good. The cafe is just average food that's slightly over priced. OHHH but the ice cream is so freaking good!!! You can let the kids tour the peach factory (FREE).

My friend and I stopped here during our roadtrip from Atlanta to Savannah.

Like other yelpers have stated, the peach ice cream and peach cobbler are amazing. Quite simply, it is one of the best desserts I have ever eaten. We sat outside on one of the rocking chairs and fanned ourselves on the beautiful but hot sunny day in the South.

We got peach bread and pecans for the road, and I made sure I saved some for when I got back to California so my family here could experience bread made from Georgia.

On vacation, we saw a sign for Lanes as we drove I75 South from Atlanta to Florida. Getting off at the next exit, I wondered if it was really worth the 5 mile drive to Lanes. As it turns out, it was worth a 5 mile crawl on one's belly. One thing missing from this trip to Georgia was Peach Cobbler, but not anymore. Oh my. Oh my. I bought a large cup of Peach Cobbler for the 3 of us to share, and my wife asked why I only got one. Then she felt the cup. It must have weighed two pounds, and I now declare it the best thing that I have ever eaten, anywhere. I've traveled a lot, lived in NYC, San Francisco, Israel, etc. Lane's Peach Cobbler, eaten in a rocking chair on a warm April day, took 10 years off my life. Well done Lane.

We also bought some strawberries, so sweet that it's hard to believe that they're not candied, and some strawberry ice cream. Wow. Is everything here that good?

Will I be back? I sure hope so.

Lane is a large place with three retail areas. One area sells fresh fruit & nuts locally grown. The second area sells canned fruit, fruit glazes, spices etc. The third area sells fresh ice cream, bakery items, soup (they have a "soup bar") and sandwiches. There are tours of the produce packing area. This is a must stop for us when we are heading to or from Florida, it is about 5 minutes from I-75 at Exit 142.
