I eat here about once a month meeting people from Austin area.  The tortilla chips are the best around being bought from a company in Austin called Fiesta.  Thin, light, and with a dusting of salt.  My favorite on their menu are the chicken flautas.
If you want to bring in your own beer or wine,  or as I do those frozen margaritas from HEB and add a little tequila at the table,  they have always said it is OK.  Take your own salt and glasses.

Good family style restaurant, quiet and quaint. Salsa tastes like blended pico, but is flavorful with a good balance. Chips come out hot. Our waitress was friendly, and always refilling our drinks and salsa. Food ordered around the table was two fish plates, both devoured. Chicken fried steak, and the chicken fried chicken. Both cane with mashed potatoes and gravy. Both were deemed delicious. I found the fish a bit soggy, but my wife liked em. Batter on my chicken was a bit average.

It's a nice place for an early dinner. Little bit chilly. Average price is 10$ per adult. Nice kids menu. Ample seating.

Meals take about twenty minutes after the order is fired. But they come out hot and delicious. Didn't try the deserts. Would like to see a review on them. Will definitely revisit.

We stopped here for dinner recently on the way back to Austin from a day at Lake Buchanan.   It is hard to miss this restaurant at the corner of Castleberry Court and State Highway 29.  The building is a deep blue, almost purple with white trim with a large steel mariachi trumpet player statue out front. It looks like the building is probably brand new, or at least very recently remodeled.   Even the concrete and asphalt in the parking lot looks like new.  Inside, the restaurant practically shines.  Most of the seating is bright-red diner-style bench seats.

The menu is about 1/3 Tex-Mex standards, 1/3 traditional American items like fried catfish, chicken, steaks, and pork chops, and 1/3 hamburgers.  Regardless of what you plan to order, you get a basket of chips and salsa at the table when you are seated.  I thought the chips and salsa were above average.  The restaurant does not serve alcohol and sodas are from the can, but they're only $0.99/can, so it's hard to complain too much about the lack of free refills.

The chicken fajita chimichanga was OK, but could have used a sauce on top - either a verde salsa or queso or something.  The refried beans were nothing special, and the salad on the side was just plain lettuce, tomato, and cheese, and could have used something else like pico de gallo or a dollop of guacamole to make it a little more interesting.  My wife's cheeseburger tasted fine, and seemed to be a popular menu item, as several other tables ordered it.  The French fries do not taste like they are made in house, but are probably brought in pre-cut and frozen.

This is a decent, clean, and very affordable restaurant in a small town where you really wouldn't expect much.  It was a pleasant discovery.
