Pizza is great - pie cut, with a crispy cracker-y crust. The pulled pork BBQ pizza was delicious and off the beaten path.
Service was fast and friendly.
It ain't a steakhouse, but for a sports bar reviewed by someone who is neither a sports fan nor a drinker, it hit the spot perfectly.
Yeah, nice place. Clean, not to rowdy. Good wings! The bartenders are nice. Lots of TV's, and a pretty decent menu. So why is this place never busy? It should be, right?
I'm sure it's because it's right on Lake street in "downtown" Bloomingdale and the cops in Bloomingdale live for DUI's. They would love to pull you over coming out from that place at 10:00 at night. Be careful! .50 CENT WINGS ON TUESDAY.
Eh. Â Legends is really just a typical 3-star, "a-ok" joint. Â It's nice"ish", there are little flatscreens at all the booths (which is nice but you can't change the channel), the service was good, and the prices weren't bad. Â However, it is completely standard sports bar food. Â I went there totally jonesing for wings and a burger. Â More specifically, I went there for kick ass wings and a mouth-watering, juicy, blow-your-mind blue cheese burger. Â As we pulled up, a magical ".50 cent wing night" sign was lit up next to our front door spot and I was thinking this was going to be it...alas, it was not. Â The wings were super crispy (which I like) but there was no option of boneless. Â This means my husband ate all the good drummettes and I ate the shitty wings. Â The sauce was also good, but not spicy at all. Â Lame, but I could handle it. Â The killer here was that the bleu cheese was AWFUL. Â Super sweet and besides the tiny crumbles thrown on top you would never know what it was supposed to be. Â Strike 1. Â The beer list was also pretty bad. Â Lots of crappy light and domestic beers with a few decent ones in the line: Rogue Dead Guy, Half Acre Daisy Cutter Pale Ale, and Lagunitas IPA. Â I ordered a Daisy Cutter; all out. Â Tried for a Lagunitas; all out. Â Last, I got a Dead Guy, but it wasn't the same once I had the others on my mind's palate. Â Yes, I am a beer snob, get over it. Â Also, Legends? Â STRIKE 2. Â Then we got our burgers...I got the Eggceptional burger and my man got the bacon burger. Â Both were ordered medium and both came out well done. Â The toasted pretzel buns, regular fries, and waffle fries were pretty bomb, but the burgers were just so-so. Â Nothing exciting. Â Also, crumbled bleu cheese was not an option and I am obsessed with bleu cheese burgers, so that was the last straw. Â Strike 3, Legends, strike 3.
Review Source:Went there day before thanksgiving. It was about medium packed, nothing any bar shouldn't be able to handle. Sat in a booth for about ten minutes, did not see one waitress walk by. Sat for another five minutes, still no help. Walked right out and went to Tilted Kilt down the street. I know day before thanksgiving is a huge bar night, but 15 minutes in a booth and no service??
Review Source:First time Yelper here. Service is the worst I have ever had and food is so plain it's disgusting. Chicken sandwich WITHOUT lettuce tomato onion etc. Only two other tables on the patio and 3 people in the bar and the server couldn't be more slow. I used to serve and I would never have been able to keep my job with this poor service. I will NEVER go back and no one else should either.
Review Source:Legends has become my husband's and I "go to" spot when we're hungry and thirsty. He always wants a place with beer and tvs and I always want a place with quality food, and Legends meets this criteria. Most people are happy with a bar that serves a good hamburger, but I like to have more choices than traditional bar fare. Legends serves entree items such as Cajun chicken, chicken marsala and Tilapia. Best of all, when I make changes to my selection, they are able to do it! Â I would have given 5 stars, but their nachos need a little work.
Review Source:Leave it to a completely no frills neighborhood sports bar to come up with one of the best burgers in the western burbs. Â When we first came to the place my expectations were not high. Â It just doesn't look like anything special. Â Sure, your individual booth has its own little LCD tv showing whatever sporting event or news show that's on, but overall, it's pretty mundane.
And then you get your food and Legends becomes something special. Â It's a nice juicy (even when cooked medium well) piece of meat absolutely smothered in cheese inside of a pretzel bun. Â It should be a national law that all hamburgers be served on pretzel buns. Â There's really nothing better. Â The first time I got a standard bacon cheeseburger. Â Can't go wrong there. Â Second time I got a "Parmigiana" burger with marinara sauce and mozzarella sticks. Â Because once you get the basic burger down nearly perfect it's time to start experimenting with the crazy stuff.
As far as sides go, great waffle fries, great thick cut homemade chips, it all makes for an excellent meal.
Oh and the prices are surprisingly cheap. Â We're talking under 7 dollars for most burgers which in this day and age is pretty good. Â And for a burger this fantastic... well it makes Legends worth going back to again and again.
Nothing screams out BAAAAD, but nothing screams out Great either. It was just, kinda, there. I had a bowl of chili which was really good and some good wings but overall...plain. The beers were poured about an inch short of the pint rim and the personality just wasn't there. I'll go back if convenient and I'd even tell someone to give it a try but it wouldn't be for a "big" game because it is small and it wouldn't be for the NFL ticket because I don't think they have enough TV's to get every game.
Review Source:I have been here a couple times, The menu is pretty small but everything that I have tried has been pretty good. Â I had a good burger the first time I went. Â The prices are reasonable, and there are a ton of TV's everywhere so you can watch whatever game is on. Â The only complaint I have is that this place is pretty small and it can get pretty crowded if there is a big game on.
Review Source:Legends is great! Â Great drink specials and love the TV setup! Â Tons of tv's to watch all sorts of games!
Started off with a Bloody Mary which was great and an appetizer of nachos which i also loved. Â The burger was awesome and I loved the pretzel bun! Â Good amount of beers on tap and the staff was very nice. Â Overall a nice addition to the neighborhood.
Noticed that they have pizza being added to the menu and hope to stop back in for a pie!
More bar than restaurant, but this place has a pretty solid menu. Not too big, but with a cute patio -- that overlooks a shopping-center parking lot -- the interior has a decent-sized bar, and then booths and tables along the wall. Each table has its own smallish flat-panel TV, to match the large flat-panels behind the bars.
Menu's pretty basic: appetizers, salads, burgers, wraps, sandwiches, a few house specials and desserts. They do have a kids menu as well.
Appetizers:
Nachos. The chips were solid, although they tasted a wee bit stale (like they'd been put in the microwave); the chili was tasty and meaty, the cheese sauce plentiful, and lots of really tasty pico-style salsa. With just-fresh chips, these would've been really excellent.
Pile o' fries: Waffle fries, nice and hot, with lots of bright neon cheese. It is what it is, and it's pretty tasty.
Sandwiches:
First time, I got a blackened tilapia sandwich, which comes dressed with garlic mayo, lettuce, tomato and red onion. The tilapia was very flavorful, but fell apart as I tried to eat it. The bread was good but a bit chewy, and now that I think about it, it would've been better on a toasty roll. Add that crunch.
Second time, a bruschetta burger, which comes with bruschetta topping, mozzarella and balsamic glaze. I was expecting more tomato and less balsamic. It was tasty, but would've been better with a little less glaze, that was almost all I could taste. The pretzel rolls are quite a nice touch.
My husband got a bacon cheeseburger with pepper jack cheese, which came on a pretzel roll, and he declared it awesome. On a repeat visit he got a different burger he devoured equally quickly.
Fries and chips are both pretty solid, though they can be a little chewy.
Service was not spectacular, but solid, but there was one waitress for the whole place, who was also bartending, so I will give her some credit for that. Prices are pretty low for good-sized portions.
