Pizza-1 star
Service- no stars
The wait, although promised to be 40 minutes was over 2 hours for three simple pizzas. They were so disorganized and the staff and atmosphere so chaotic and the service was sub par. They continually promised the pizza shortly but it was never ready. No member of management seemed to be running the business.
They made the calamari an hour and 20 mins prior to the pizza being ready. Did they really think that cold calamari was what we ordered?
If they had showed even a bit of empathy for the inexcusable wait then this unacceptable experience could be overlooked but they were rude and curt as if waiting 2 hours for 3 pizzas was the norm.
We will never order again. No pizza is worth
the wait of over 2 hours-certainly not this pizza!
Been eating pizza here since I was about 7. Reunited and it feels so good! Getta slice or three! Â Delicious....
This place has excellent dinners and pizza and I recommend it. It is not high end at all but very nice atmosphere, good food and beachy :-) right across the street is the ice cream store and one block away the beach!
After spending a day at Chadwick Beach's Clean-up, my husband, sister and I drove around looking for a place to grab a bite for lunch. Lenny's Pizzeria was open for business, despite the tremendous amount of destruction nearby from Hurricane Sandy a few months ago. We were seated right away and greeted by our wonderful waiter, Damien. The restaurant and pizzeria were crowded, yet comfortable. We ordered a garden salad to split, which was great, and a large thin crust pizza, half plain, half black olives. The pizza was perfect. For dessert, we had to try the ice cream sandwich on a brioche roll! It was definitely interesting. I couldn't really imagine one person eating the whole thing. It is literally a sandwich of ice cream. This is a "shore" spot for lunch and we will definitely be returning.
Review Source:Seaside heights Has some hard to find places when it comes to feeding the appetite for the right price but I can say that Lenny's definitely provides the effect and bang for your buck I was searching for. Quality food with out the high end price. The largest homemade rolls to any pizzeria I have come across. Excellent flavored in pizza and vodka penne with grilled chicken. The ambience is nice although could use a little pick me up in the decour area. It's just short distance to waterfront and beach to help walk off those pounds you just ate. great spot to catch a bite and continue your day.
Review Source:Ordered the buffalo wings & the buffalo calamari = both amazing. Buffalo calamari didn't come with blue cheese you'll need to ask for some. They bring the most amazing, warm bread to table. Only thing missing was olive oil. For our meal, we ordered the large pizza, half nonni half chicken pesto. I preferred the nonni. The reason I dont give this place 4 or 5 stars is bc the wait for appetizers was pretty long, but the wait for pizza was beyond ridiculous! We easily  waited over an hour for the pie. Seems to be the same for other meals as everyone around us seemed to have been waiting for their meals. I'd def. Return, just hope wait is less. Oh! And its byob!!!!
Review Source:We ordered three pies with two toppings each and fed 10 hungry people who had just gotten to the shore. Â Very fresh vegetables and you get a large portion of them on each pie. Â The sausage and pepperoni were sliced very thick and the meat was just the right spice and texture. Â
If it didn't cost $25 a pie and take 15 minutes to pay for your take-out I'd give this place five stars, otherwise they're making some good eats out of that place.
Tip: Â Order take-out and give yourself some time to pay at the counter, they are extremely busy every night during the summer.
*sigh* My parents live literally a block over from Lenny's, and we order pizza from there alot. And I will say, the pizza is decent. But seriously, we live in NJ and almost EVERY pizza place in NJ that is north of Seaside is halfway decent. Not to mention there are literally hundreds of pizza places at the Jersey Shore alone. Â So yes, the pizza is OK, but it's def nothing special. And their wings suck and are soggy.
Lenny's, however, would disagree with me, seeing as their prices for a typical pizza/Italian place at the Shore are COMPLETELY RIDICULOUS. $25 for a large veggie pie?? Â $17 for a medium white pizza??? Unbelievable.
Tonight, we ordered two medium pizzas- one plain, and one white with roasted garlic. My mother also had a coupon for a free appetizer, worth $7 so she got calamari. The total? FORTY DOLLARS. The moron answering the phone didn't bother to tell my mom that there was an upcharge for calamari of FIVE DOLLARS. Really? A MEDIUM white pizza with roasted garlic is twenty bucks. Not for even a large pizza! Give me a break.
My advice- if ordering from here, always ask for the total and prices BEFORE placing your order. Totally not worth it. Mia's Pizza is good too and way cheaper.
This is the best pizza south of Brick Beach. Service is slow because they've grown a lot in the last few years and they've kept the same small hands-on kitchen that makes everything fresh to order. Your best bet is to call ahead, and go pick up your food.
Hands down our household favorite pie is the Nonna Rosalia Pizza: a base layer of mozzarella, topped with the sweetest garlic plum tomato sauce, really fresh basil, spices, and fresh grated cheese. Its sweet, chewy, and has a kick. Plus, it just LOOKS amazing when you open the box. Fantastic experience every time.
We dined in for the first time last night and the ambience was lacking but the food was fantastic. Instead of pizza, I opted for a chicken special with a salad for under $15. My plate of Chicken Elizabeth came out artfully garnished with thyme. The marsala sauce was perfect and the layers of spinach, roasted red pepper, home-made mashed potatoes and melted cheese were balanced well.
Blahhhh. Ok this is basicly the only place open near our beachhouse in the offseason, so we ordered some takeout. Delivery was fast though the island is dead this time of year.
The food though was just horrible, i ordered a cheese fries, which isnt technically on the menu but its an italian place youd think they know how to melt cheese on fries after making them. Well they put enough cheese on to cover about 25% of the actual fries, not even the entire top layer. And the fries themselves were overcooked and hard. The pizza is thin, had too much sauce, and was just bad compared to the 100 other pizza places on the jersey shore. Only go here if you are starving and/or have no tastebuds.
We've gone to Lenny's twice. Â Once during the busiest part of the dinner rush on the weekend, and once right before closing time on a weekday. Â The food was great both times. Â On the busy night, the service was perfect. Â On the slow night, we seemed to be inconveniencing them by wanting to buy their food. Â It's probably a good sign that they are capable of providing good service at their busiest times of day, but it'd be nice to know that good service was available always.
Review Source:Lenny's has been my family's go to pizza place for twenty years. Â We've had birthday parties there and I even worked there for two summers. Â The food is classic Italian-American (rather than classic Neopolitan, authentic Italian). Â The pizza pie is a delicious chewy crust made with white flour and a bit of char, bubbling hot with lots of cheese, and plentiful toppings. Â The chicken parmigiana sub (not hoagie!) is heavenly: bite into a long hard roll with soft chewy insides and you get a mouthful of sweet marinara, perfectly tangy provolone, and crispy breaded white meat chicken. Â The food is basic, but there is beauty in the simplicity of the food. Â The entrees aren't bad, but honestly the stars here are the pies, the subs, and classic Italian American appetizers like mozzerella sticks and fried calamari. Â I eagerly anticipate the nights we get takeout from Lenny's. Â The decor of the restaurant isn't much to look at, but the food is fantastic. Â Delivery in the summer months can be a ridiculous wait (and I think most of the drivers are frequently stoned), so just go pick it up yourself.
