McIntyre's is a great venue, period. Â Whether you're going to watch a sporting event, see a little live music, or just hang out for a few drinks and a snack, it's probably the best place in town to do so, even if it doesn't look like it from the outside. Â
When you pull into the gigantic parking lot of the somewhat hidden strip mall in which it's housed, you might be forgiven for thinking you are in the wrong place. Â Enter through the aluminum framed, glass door that looks like it would be more at home at the entrance to a convenience store, and you are met with a considerably larger space than expected. Â In the front room, there are pool tables, a ton of televisions, booths, and one of the largest bars I've ever laid eyes on outside of a resort. Â Make your way through to the back room, a sizeable but still cozy space, and that's where the music happens. Â
It's not luxurious, but it isn't exactly divey, either. Â They offer a wide selection of draft beer, some tasty bar food, and a diverse crowd to socialize with (if you go in for that kind of thing). Â Unlike a lot of places this size, I have yet to ever see anyone start any static here. Â It has a surprisingly chill vibe, considering all the meathead-types that tend to flock to this region during the summer season. Â Definitely a cool place to hang out.
Went for a couple of drinks and ESPN. The bar is huge, that's a big plus. The food looked good, but I wasn't hungry. The beers weren't expensive at all. There were TVs all over the place, they had music on, but it was intermingled with hip-hop. Why why why? Nevertheless I had a good time and may return soon.
