They serve lunch and dinner and then after 10:00 pm the tables are moved to the side and the DJ begins the evening night club activities.  We went for an early dinner and the food was good and reasonably priced.  We also had a Yelp coupon which came in handy.  The waitress was pleasant and provided good service.  We would come here again when passing through Fayetteville.

The food was extremely bland and the service was not very good.  I had the dumpling soup and goulash and both were really lacking in flavor.  However, the mashed potatoes were really good.  I lived in Europe for 2 years and the food didn't seem very European to me.

Visited on a Sunday afternoon with the family. There was a small group at the bar and nobody else. The service was bad, the cook and the bartender were the only people there. The cook (which was the only descent service) keep trying to keep our service going while getting the food ready. The bart tender was just hagging out with the croud at the bar and showed up only twice with my beer. Despite the cooks effort the food was bad. The only good thing was the beer itself and the natural cut fries...

I really hate writing a bad review about this place as there is not really any other options for European food in Fayetteville but I have to be honest. The food simply had no flavor. The presentation was very nice but did not make up for the flavorless food. I had the Goulash and my wife had the stuffed cabbage. Both dishes were overcooked and flavorless. Apart from that, on the menu there is a picture of pierogis but they do not offer any at the restaurant. This is very misleading to advertise something and not actually sell it.

Very happy I stumbled upon this place.  Excellent service by Arthur made me feel very welcome.  Delicious Chicken Paprikash and very fresh green salad.  I am looking forward to returning.

Needing to kill some time, my husband and I parked the car in downtown area and walked around.  Feeling a little hungry, we went inside. The decor is so-so, you can tell that it turns into a club at night.

Wait staff- or should I say waiter. There was only one waiter for the entire place during a monday lunch service.  He obviously had slow business that day, since the till didn't carry enough cash to give change back.  He excused himself and disappeared somewhere to get change.  I've never really seen that in an eatery.

Food:  I ordered the chicken paprikash. You really need to like paprika. It was basically a creamy sauce that was doused with paprika, cus that's all you could taste, and the color was orangy red.  The chicken pieces were good, moist and soft and it was served over a bed of egg noodles.  Nothing too fancy. It is what it is, simple and edible.

Am I dying to go back, not really. Must be the general consensus, cus the place was dead... there was only one other diner there the entire time we were there.

Bathroom: could be cleaner. I sort of judge a place by how clean they keep the bathroom.  At least there was toilet paper and soap.

Great food!  I recommend the borscht (Russian red beet/beef/cabbage soup, done perfectly here and served with delicious buttery toast) and the Kielbasa Kapusta (a combination of apples, saurkraut, and sausage... packed with flavor and delicious). My husband and I have been regulars for two years, but only during the day!  It's usually quiet at lunch time and sometimes we're the only customers. One time I ordered tilapia and it wasn't fully cooked in the middle--yikes-- but it was an honest mistake and there are enough delicious and hard to find items on the menu to make it more than worth returning. Fayetteville needs more places like this!  Update:  I just read another reviewer's comments about the German chocolate cake not being an authentic menu item--true. They do call themselves the "euro spot" but they're definitely more Eastern European. The waitress we see regularly is Russian herself. I recommend trying the Russian/Ukrainian dishes like I mentioned above if you want the more authentic menu items. I haven't had a borscht as delicious as theirs since I lived in Russia.

I like going to Lidos for the nightlife - I've never been to eat.  The dance floor is a little small and if you are looking for dance partners early in the evening, you won't find many.  However, if you go to Lidos towards the end of the night (midnight on) there is usually a crowd.

The music at this spot is pretty good on Wednesdays. The DJ plays a great mix of House, Dubstep and Hip Hop. That being said, it is the best part of this place.

The bartenders on duty are not very diligent. I tip very well when a bartender is active and taking care of me as a customer. I had two drinks and on both occasions I was served after people who walked up to the bar after me. After my second drink (which I believe are overpriced anyway...6.75 for a captain and coke?) I had water. Not once in over 45 minutes was I asked if I was ok or needed anything even though I spent the whole time at the bar. I even tip when I'm served water! Instead the bartender kept checking her phone and chatting with her buddies at the bar.

I may or may not come back to this establishment. I'm big on giving places a second look buthalf assed bartenders are a pet peeve of mine and if it is one of yours as well, rethink your decision to come here.

Let me just say this...I have not eaten here but if the a place offers European food,German food and serves German chocolate cake as a dessert, then You will get no business from me. All of my friends and myself included are from Germany and we all agree that there is no German chocolate cake in Germany. There is Sacher Torte, which is a very special kind of Torte and only good bakers make it, so.....unless they changed the menu since I saw it on there...if they are wrong about that what else is not right?

We love trying different cuisines, so decided to try lidos. It really all depends what you order. The first time we went here it was great 5 stars. We had borscht  which is pretty amazing. The stuffed cabbage was also good. Dumplings were not very good( but I'm not a dumpling person) my husband had the chicken lido which was wonderful! That time the service was great and we had two children under five with us. The second time it was a double date and we were not pleased. I had the pork medallions and really disliked it, it had a very very strong taste to it. The service was horrid , the waitress was flirting with my Friends date and it was just very disrespectful. We may give it one more shot in the future.

Fantastic food, unusual menu! You don't see dishes like this on most NC restaurant menus, and they are DELICIOUS.  Our second time visiting Lidos was last night. All four of us loved our food, and the little one loved his kid's meal.  The Chicken and Mushroom Zhulien appetizer is to die for - a beautifully flavored creamy chicken and sautéed mushroom spread topped with cheese, served with pita points. The dishes we've tried (pork schnitzel, goulash, kielbasa kapusta, greek salad, chicken pesto pasta) were all wonderful - they do a great job with the flavors and cooking. Our desserts were delicious too...  the cheesecake didn't taste like a traditional cheesecake - the texture was almost like that of a vanilla truffle. The prices there are really good, and the dishes we've tried there have inspired us to try to make some similar dishes at home, since we live 2 hours from Lidos. It's definitely become our go-to restaurant for when we're in Fayetteville. Sadly, when we were there last night, we were the only party there for three hours. As much as we enjoyed having the place to ourselves, we would hate to see them go out of business due to lack of customers! Apparently they get really busy with the bar and dance crowd after 11pm - they have a stage, dance floor, DJ, etc.  But don't miss the fantastic food!  And get to Lidos, Fayetteville!

Great food! Great atmosphere. Stopped for lunch. Wife had the German shnitzle. I had the cabbage wrapped beef. Both meals were great!
I've spent a month in Russian and this is authentic Russian food.

This is a chill place but they seriously need a bigger dance floor. It's way too small to do anything, especially after 12A when everybody decides to show up.

I've spent a lot of time in Europe and Eastern Europe, so I had high hopes and expectations.  I had a coupon to Lido's so I went there on Sunday late afternoon/early evening with my wife for dinner.

Initially I was skeptical - the streets around lido were quiet with vacant buildings, etc.  Inside Lido's, the decor was clean and attractive, but we were the only people inside so my skepticism lingered.

We got an appetizer - for the life of me I can't remember how to spell it.  When it came my initial reaction was "This is something I could make myself", but as we continued tasting it I realized that the flavors of it were very warm and satisfying, an excellent comfort food, and while I probably could eventually figure out how to make something like it it was definitely worth paying for.

Our entree's came out, my wife had the Goulash, I had the Hungarian Chicken Paprikash at the waitress' recommendation.  Both the goulash and paprikash looked "cleaner" than expected - I'm used to bth being thicker and heartier, but presentation wise both looked very appealing.  The Paprikash was absolutely amazing - I made the mistake of letting my wife taste my paprikash, and I spent the rest of our dinner trying to fight her fork away from my plate.  The goulash was flat-out delicious, and the bread they served with it was unlike anything I've ever tasted (If you don't believe me, try it!)

The portions were large, so we ended up getting to-go boxes for our leftovers.  This got me in trouble because hours later I was having some of the paprikash and my wife angrily accused me of not leaving enough for her.

Only things that kept this from being a perfect 5/5 stars is 1) needed a little more chicken in the paprikash 2) needed a little more beef in the goulash 3) the goulash could have used more of the incredible bread that came with it and 4) while I can't believe I'm saying it, the portions were large, I'd have preferred smaller overall entree portions if the entrees had more proteins with them.

Would definitely go back to Lido's.  Would recommend this to anybody that can appreciate good eastern european food.

I've had lunch there 4 times and the food has been excellent every time.

I'm a huge fan of their Lido Salad and their fries are the best I think I've ever had.

The reason for a 4 is that they typically have 1 wait staff (at least 3 of the 4 times I've been, I've only seen 1), so it might take a little while to get your order taken & to get your food.  But the wait staff has been friendly & accommodating.

Again, the food has been great every time I've been.

Excellent food!  My husband and I came here for lunch and he had the Hungarian Chicken Paprikash and I had the Veal Pelmeni.  Both were fantastic! Although the Veal Pelmeni came with sour cream, it was better without it but it was really good with the Paprikash.  Service was great.

The only reason I gave them four stars was because during the lunch hour their door was slightly propped open and as soon as our meal came we had to swat off flies.  It was kind of irritating.

Not authentic russian tasting, bland, and the beers at the nightclub were overpriced.

My husband I decided to try Lido's because he heard their radio ad and thought it sounded different and interesting.  I love the downtown location and the interior was very nice. Loved the artwork.  We came early and it was fairly quiet, great for a nice dinner for two.  The server was very nice and we were greeted immediately.  I had a Sicilian Kiss Martini which was very good.  We both ordered the Goulash.  The meat was tender and the sauce was very rich and flavorful.  It was a very hearty, if very simple, meal.  My only complaint was that I asked for noodles and received potatoes instead.  I did not say anything and the potatoes were good, just very heavy.  The bread they served with the meal was to die for.  My husband said he could have made a meal on the bread and sauce. All in all it was a great experience and we will probably go back.

Upon entering I was greeted with a smile (as always) I really like this place. I have only been here three times, this will be my second time for lunch (my other time was a monday night ( it turns into a club at ten)). It establishment is always spotless and the walls are filled with art, which is always a plus (i hate boring walls). Last time I had a greek salad which was very good and authentic. I also was insisted on trying the chicken fingers by one of my associates the night I came to the night club.... It was ok, but not what it was hyped up to be.
This time I had The chicken lido, and all I have to say is wow. From start to finish the best chicken anything I have had in town. The presentation was awesome, I hate a boring plate, a joy to look and and a joy to eat. Perfect flavor, a real joy to eat. The fries were very good, slightly undercooked but the seasoning completely made up for it. The coleslaw was breathtaking. There is something to really appreciate about a completely handmade meal and it shows the time and effort that was put into this.... Amazing.... Thank you!!!

This is a great little restaurant in Historic Downtown Fayetteville. They also have a bar and quite a big stage. My daughter and I came for lunch. They offer European and Russian fare and we were not dissappointed. I had the chicken Lido and she had cottage cheese pancakes (she's 2). Both were great, so was the friendly service. I'll be back to eat here soon. :)
