We stumbled upon this place only because we were headed to Kilauea Fish market on Sunday, however they were closed. The place looked cute and busy so we thought what the heck. Â Nice staff but awful food. I ordered the sandwich special of the day which was grilled chicken. Part of the breast was not cooked all the way. Â The vegetable and barley soup was terribly salty. My husband had the fish salad which he enjoyed but had a crappy cocktail. Â Very below average.
Review Source:This place is solidly average. Our waitress was helpful in pointing out that the scallops appetizer consisted of only ONE scallop for $12, so we chose the Kalua pork rolls (which were good, but not great). She was not very knowledgeable about the beer selection.
The food was middle of the road. I ordered the Kauai Prawns. There were a few prawns over some pasta with a good sauce. You have to order salads separately, no bread is served, and you're likely to leave hungry. Like most places on the island, you don't get a whole lot for the money. Unlike many places on the island, there's no breathtaking view and the ambiance is middle of the road.
I'm pretty sure this place gave me diarrhea, too. I was snorkeling when it hit me and I had to get out of the water and run back to our condo from the SeaLodge Beach... I almost didn't make it.
