  What a cute little coffee shop!
  
  I don't spend a lot of time in Milan, but I had to meet someone for business and he suggested talking at the Lighthouse. I got there early to scope it out, and found to my great happiness that they not only serve coffee, ice cream and pastries but they also sell pasties.
  
  I grew up in the Upper Peninsula, home of great pasties (meat and veggie pies, for the uninitiated), but they're much harder to find in the Lower Peninsula. They sell several varieties here, including vegetarian.
  
  The coffee I had was fine if not spectacular, and the prices for coffee and food are good. The atmosphere is welcoming: roomy and relaxed, and it was nice and cold on a hot summer day.

  Great place to stop for a bite if you're in town.
  They serve their own blends of coffee, not roasted on site, but specially roasted for them. It's easily the best cup of coffee in town, and can hold its own against Ann Arbor's finest.
  They make their own baked goods, which I recommend trying. I've always enjoyed the cookies especially.
  Sandwiches are excellent and are a real bargain considering what you pay for a sandwich in Ann Arbor. I recommend the turkey panini with cranberries and sprouts. It's mouth-watering delicious and huge enough to be a meal in itself.
  They have a poetry night and an open mike night, so if you haven't been to the Lighthouse, those would be great excuses to give it a try.
