This little gem of a wine bar is located a block off Main Street providing a bit of late night entertainment and a nice selection of wines. We stopped in around 9 pm on a Saturday night and were lucky to find a place to sit. There was a young talented singer songwriter performing which packed the small courtyard patio. We were lucky enough to score a little room with a couch and an opened window not to miss the live music.

I am not sure if they have table service, we placed our drink order at the bar. We ordered a glass of Malbec and later Jesse ordered a beer (bottle only). We loved the ambiance and sipping a glass of vino on the cozy couch. One thing I would like to suggest is a having a printed wine list. While they have a lovely venue and their wines are on display it would be helpful to have a wine list to peruse. The plus side  of not having a wine list however is that it encourages conversation as you have to talk about the wines you like for the employees to provide suggestions and at the end of the evening you might learn a little something and discover a new favorite bottle.

I would love to return on a less crowded night and take in a beautiful evening on their darling patio.

Great atmosphere. Loved the live music, El Verde boys, they were fantastic.  So glad we stopped in, ended up staying 3 hours and enjoyed it.  Very laid back. Set outside if you want to avoid cigar smoke.  Do not serve dinner but do have appetizer type foods....

A little pricey, but what in Fredericksburg isn't these days? This quaint little place brings a nice finish to a night out in Fredericksburg. Call ahead if you are not a fan of live music. It can get a little noisy.

Lincoln street is very quaint.  I could just imagine lounging around during the winter months with a fire burning away while sipping on some fine wine.  The bar itself seems like a renovated house with wine adorning all their walls.  Upon arrival we were greeted by Danny and a customer, who were very chatty and friendly.  Albeit it was 5ish and we were the only two folks in the place.  Large leather chairs and little tables were around to sit and relax in.  They serve every bottle by the glass which is unique.  My suggestion is to ask the price, they have the price on every bottle, but it may be worth asking.  I was a little surprised that Suzie actually paid $15 for a glass of red.  However, I think this is more of a function of Fredericksburg.  To their credit, we did get a nice pour in big glasses.  Once seated, the owner Danny came over and chatted with us.  Asked us where we were from and suggested that we get something to eat.  They offer cheese and snackies it looked like at reasonable price points.  We just stayed for the one glass since we were walking around checking out the town.  Definitely will drop back in next time in town.

Visited during Memorial Day Weekend, and this place was perfect. Full range of wine from typical $8 to the pricey $21 glasses. They will recommend, let you taste, and  really care that you find the perfect wine for your taste buds. And their tapas menu is fantastic - I recommend the prosciutto-wrapped mozzarella with basil on crackers. Delicious!

A must if you are looking for a relaxing snack and drink. Def beats some of those spots on main street - clean, fun, quality, variety and top notch service.

Heavy pours, tasty snacks, and entertaining bartenders.

I visited Lincoln Street on a cold, rainy night in Fredericksburg and was not disappointed. We had dinner on Main Street and headed to Lincoln Street to warm up with a glass of red wine. Our bartender, Daniel, was helpful in picking out wines  let us have samples of several bottles before making a decision.

We paid around $10-12 for each glass of wine but the pours were so heavy we did not mind the price tag. We stayed for several hours chatting with Daniel and others at the bar. After having a couple of glasses, we ordered a plate of Manchego cheese to go with the wine. Lincoln Street was a very friendly place and overall great experience. Would definitely go back during my next trip to Fredericksburg!

What a great little place tucked right behind main street.  We went there after dinner as we had an early meal and was not ready to call it a night.  Elizabeth was so very friendly and helped us find a great red wine that we enjoyed while sitting in plush leather chairs in a little room to ourselves.

This was definitely a local hangout as several locals were there prior to a Marti Gras Party and were coming back after.

As others stated they don't have a wine menu because they stated that they are always changing out wines.  But the price for the wine selected by Elizabeth was about 8$ a glass which is pretty standard if not cheaper than what I have seen elsewhere.  So to me, they did not try to rip us off as they could have selected a much more expensive brand and we would not have known otherwise until we got our tab.

So we sat and talked and periodically someone would come and make sure we were okay.  Oh boy were we okay :).  There are also other small rooms that people can sit in and an area in the back with a roaring fire.  Due to the bad weather we stayed indoors.

Whenever staying in Fredericksburg or just driving thru this is a great place to relax with a glass of wine.

Thanks for a great end of a day!

    Drink well

We never come to Fredericksburg without stopping by Lincoln Street!! Although we're novice wino's, we love this place. Great atmosphere, love the cheese selection. It is so hard to find St. Andre cheese, but they carry it and it is heavenly. Don't leave without having the pecans!! My favorite!!

It seems as though everything in Fredericksburg closes early, even on a Saturday night.  Lincoln Street is a great spot to just sit and chill with a glass of wine into the wee hours.  Indoors are comfy chairs, while outdoors resides some chimeneas and plenty of tables.  When I asked about different red wine options, the bartender gave me suggestions at all different price points and explained each option.  I settled on an Argentine Malbec that was quite enjoyable while sitting by the fire on a cold night.

As far as middle-of-nowhere Fredericksburg, TX nightlife goes, for an "out-of-towner" this was the only "chic" place I found that was open late on a pre-Thanksgiving evening. I found it to be quite a nice little place, complete with a roaring fire outside on a private patio with wicker benches and surrounded by trestles of grape vines.

My sister and I were the only ones there besides the owner's friends, who were kind enough to let us join the "party" and have a seat beside the outdoor fireplace with them.

When we first arrived, I was pleased with the Sonoma Valley-esque decor and many cozy nooks and plush seating, even though it was empty. I began sampling the wines the owner had at the counter, trying to make a selection. I believe he was getting impatient with me after a while because none of the selections were really calling to me. I know he can't sit there and let me sample the hell out of everything before buying a glass, so I finally just settled for one ($11 glass!!!!); the least bitter one. What a shame! I wish I could have had a more suitable wine for my palate, but alas. At least we found a place to enjoy ourselves without the rest of our family for an hour or so.

I wasn't about to buy another glass of so-so wine for $11, but it was a large enough pour, I was tipsy enough to let my sister drive us back to Grandma's house without too much disappointment in letting the night stay so young without us harassing the locals.

In the past I've really loved this place. Year after year when we drive from Austin to Fredricksburg, we stop by. But the last visit, last weekend, was a let-down. I think that ownership has changed over the years, so maybe that's a factor. Our server was a guy named Danny, and he seemed less knowledgeable about wine than previous servers we've had. He directed my husband to an Estancia Cabernet that's very common - not something I'd expect them to recommend. When I told him that I preferred Italian wines, and mentioned some varietals, he seemed stumped, but led me to the Italian section. My wine was fine, but we basically selected it based on the information on the label.

We sat inside, since it was a bit chilly on a January night, and Danny came in and turned the stereo up for the folks seated on the patio - blasting the classic rock in our room, too. We asked if he could turn it down, and his reply was "It's either on or off, in here." We said fine, turn it off... and he did. But really, classic rock at a wine bar?

Finally, there were beer boxes stacked around behind wine racks, the bathroom wasn't clean, and we never got asked if we wanted another glass... Overall, our experience was just so-so, which makes me sad, since I used to adore this place. I hope they were just having an off night.

We asked twice for a list by the glass, never got s straight answer.. We saw why, when we got the tab. Huge mark-up for low end wine. Same thing happened  last time we were there. Won't be back.

Just so everyone is clear - this is NOT a restaurant.  It is a nice little wine bar with good appetizers, but do not go here expecting dinner.

We were starving when we got there, but once we got over the disappointment of not being able to have a meal, we ordered several of the little bites and they were very good.  Although you have to wonder when I ordered the cheese plate with Camembert and was told "I'm giving you Brie instead.  It's the same thing." um no. no it's not.  It was still good though.

The outdoor patio is lovely and a nice place to sit and drink a few good glasses of wine.  Although I was surprised when I asked for a recommendation of a bottle to buy to take back to the hotel and was offered a "Cappola" instead of a local wine or something that you can't find on any grocery shelf...

Nice place to sit and relax - would go back.

Very cool place. Large selection of wine available for any taste or price. Set up to allow intimate settings or large gatherings. We started inside cuddled on a sofa but moved outdoors to sit by the fire.

we were super psyched to find a wine bar off the main road in fredericksburg serving european wines. texas wine country is fun and there are some good bottles out there, but nothing like a true european red.

there are several seating areas inside, an outside patio with fireplace, and a cigar room.

we went on a busy night and there were several people working. the patrons were friendly and said hello when we were all crowded near the bar. we enjoyed phenomenal wine from st. emilion for only $13 a glass along with a large fruit and goat cheese plate.

one of the best things about this place is that they will open any bottle of wine and pour it by the glass. this is almost unheard of in austin.

it was the perfect way to spend the time between winery closings and our dinner reservations. best wine i had all day.

the ambiance can't be beat in fredericksburg if you are looking for a local experience without the tourist vibe. the customer service was great and i can see us adding this as a regular stop on our hill country journeys.

This place was awesome. The staff was very nice and they had great customer service. The singer was great as well. Great selection of wine and they are very helpful at helping you pick, according to your taste.

Super wine bar.  Great service. Under 30 this place is probably too slow for you.

I thought Fredericksburg was a cheesy touristy destination until I visited this bar and another restaurant (which I'll review later)

The chimineas will definitely keep you warm;  The local singer is witty, chatty, has a great voice that is not loud and allows you to have a conversation.

I plan to bring back some friends later this spring.  You have to visit and when the Margaret comes by in the horse drawn carriage be sure to yell out a greeting

Lincoln Street is our little home away from home.  My husband and I love heading to FBG for a little getaway and end up at Lincoln Street every time.  We've spent 4 NYE's there too, that's how much we love Lincoln St.  It's nice to go there and not have to mess with all the craziness in Austin sometimes.  And of course they all know us by name, so what's not to love about a sophisticated little wine bar that knows your name? It's cozy, intimate, romantic, and even lively with the right group.  Huge selection of wine, beer, and my favorite, bubbles!  They'll pour pretty much anything by the glass.  Now go see Shawn, Dave, and Dan and tell them I sent ya!

Lincoln Street is a must when you visit Fredericksburg.  This cute little house has fantastic ambiance.  You can hang out in one of the cozily appointed rooms and even close the room off if you'd like some privacy.  The last few times I've visited, they've had live music of some sort on the patio.  Even in chilly weather, the patio is nice due to an outdoor fireplace and various chimeneas.
The only reason I give this place 3 stars is for their pricing.  Wine bars are historically over-priced, it's true.  But, every time I visit Lincoln Street, I have this sinking feeling that I'm going to get completely gorged when I check out.  Sure enough, the last time I was there, we paid over $40 for a bottle of wine you can get for $10 at a local grocery store.  And, we'd paid $15 for the very same bottle on our previous visit.  So...yeah....
Overall though, it's a great little find.  I still highly recommend it.

Had a great time with a group of friends, playing Apples to Apples into the wee hours, over a bottle of champagne.  Would definitelly recommend for the 30-something set.

Cute lounge to enjoy a glass of wine. Also a nice outdoor seating area. Didn't have a wine list though; you had to just look over the bottles, which seemed strange to me. Friendly service.

On the one hand, I really wish Lincoln Street were in Austin, so I could go there at least once a week for a relaxed evening of wine-sipping and cheese-noshing. On the other hand, if this place were in Austin, it'd be crawling wall-to-wall with trust fund hipsters and the wannabe wives of future lawyers, and I would hate it. As it is, Lincoln Street is one of my favorite out-of-town stops, and perfect just where it is.

It might be just the wine speaking, but I swear every time I walk out of this place, I'm a little smarter, and a tad more sophisticated. The owners/staff are all fantastically laid back and knowledgeable about wine, but in a friendly, down-to-earth, non snooty-sommelier sort of way. Cozy seating alcoves throughout are set with coffee table books about wine and wine country, the outdoor patio is hard to beat on a nice day, and if you're feeling n more outdoorsy than that, they'll  even pack you up a picnic to go -- cheeses, salamis, prosciutto, olives, fruit, crackers, and bread, the foods wines love. They make good conversation and great recommendations, and apparently their cigar selection is good too, for those who are into that. Fredericksburg's Main Street is always a nice afternoon out, but when you start to tire of the shrieking grandchildren and empty-nester antiquers with their sweatshirt-wearing poodles, head on over a couple blocks to Lincoln Street for some peace and quiet, and a bottle or two.

This may have been the first time I choose a place based solely on it's positive Yelp reviews, but that's exactly what lead me to Lincoln Street and I was not disappointed.   The bartender, Danny, asked me a few questions about my taste in wine and made a great recommendation while striking up a conversation and making me feel right at home.

The inside is very comfortable and welcoming.  There is large main room to socialize, or more intimate nooks for quiet conversation.   A great patio outside complete with a fireplace for the colder nights (including my visit).  Since it's a block off Main Street, the patio is very peaceful.

    Quickies: wine selection (4/5); cigar selection (2/5); prices (3/5); setting (5/5); service (3/5); food (5/5); prices (4/5).

Lincoln Street is THE place to get a cigar in Fredericksberg. There are other places to get wine, but the selection, prices and setting in which to enjoy it cannot beat this beautiful piece of luxury. The cheeses and other appetizers are incredible. We ordered the pesto and a cheese, costing three of us $4 a person. We felt we'd gotten a bargain.

There are imported (and domestic) beers for those who don't have a taste for wine. Their cigars were a bit lacking, but they had enough strong selections at an acceptable price. In other words, we didn't feel we'd been robbed at cork-point for the stogies we took out to the veranda with us.

Above all this, I need to say again that the setting is simply striking. The inside is luxurious and feels immediately inviting. The veranda is an even more beautiful setting, where vines climb up walls, across the hatched wood ceiling and down the fireplace. Anyone stopping into Fredericksberg for even only a few hours should be sure to check out Lincoln Street Wine Market.

My girlfriends and I went decided that since we are in our early 30's that we no longer can go to the beach for Spring Break. So, we decided a sophisticated weekend trip to Wine Country.  On a Saturday the girls and I did the spa thing and one of the ladies at the spa found an older gentleman to escort us around town that evening.  This is the 1st place that we went to.  As soon as you walk in you are just looking at cases of wine and the weather was just perfect outside to be close to the fireplace they have while a beautiful lady is singing indie music.  The singer reminded me of Lisa Loeb. The staff was very helpful in picking a wine with a cheese/cracker platter. My friend got kind of goofy and knocked over her glass of wine over the table, the staff came right over and cleaned it up with no harsh words, just a harsh facial expression.

Such a cool place.  Get a plate of cheese and a bottle of wine and sit out on the patio and enjoy life with people you enjoy too.  Really, isn't that what life is all about?  The service is great and the prices are reasonable.  What a find!

Lincoln Street is my favorite wine shop/bar.  I live in Chicago and visit my parents occassionally in Fredericksburg and this place tops anything I've seen in the Windy City.  An excellent and eclectic selection of wines and it is changing constantly.  You can try any bottle of wine in the house, even ultra ultra premiums like Opus One, by the glass, for a quarter of the bottle price.  The scene at night is great, with a fun mix of service industry folks and tourists.  Live music frequently, and an outdoor fireplace that is THE place to be in this town on a chilly night.  Beautiful interior is Tuscan inspired and a relaxing place to spend an afternoon reading or chatting with the knowledgable and friendly staff.

This place is a wine bar. They have a ton of interesting selections at fairly reasonable prices. The walls are lined with bottles. Lots of choices. I really wish there was a place like this in Austin. No doubt there are some interesting wine bars in Austin, but this one has a much better coffee house kind of atmosphere. Much better than say Cork & Co or Cru in downtown Austin.  Can buy by the bottle or by the glass. Outdoor patio. Live music the Friday I was there. Cheese plates and some snacks but didn't try them so will have to update this next time I go.
