Friday lunch ...good day for lunch and a couple of beers. Friend ordered a burger...was overcooked and sent back to be remade. Service handled well...Burger looked like a Patty..was average. I ordered fresh Turkey sandwich...Turkey didn't taste fresh and looked and tasted like thin sliced lunchmeat. Beers were cold and good selection. Would go back for drinks but not for a meal.

Well Robert the chef left and this place went off a cliff. We have come here for awhile and were really disappointed with the food. We sent back the chicken since it was cold inside, not warm cold. I ordered the pizza and it was lukewarm. The side items were tasteless. The only thing good was the waitresss. She was great. Did here best. Said a new chef was in. He should be fired. Other friends at another. Table said the food had gone down also but ok. They are changing the menu to a sports bar menu for a menu that had offered dishes that were differnt. If so bj here I come if I am in the mood for standard fare

This restaurant is a little treasure. A friend introduced me to it and although it wasn't easy to find, the happy hour more than made up for it.
They tease you with little morsels of their food and it worked. I returned with my husband for lunch and it was a home run. The salads are all organic, fresh and imaginative. They don't drench it in dressing. Coffee is really great. And the presentation on the dishes is good too. The views are fun because you look out onto a golf course so it feels like a mini vacation. While we haven't had the pizza or eaten outside by the outdoor oven we know we'll come back and give it a go. BTW when the chef is there he comes out and chats you up.

Fuggettaboutit. Seems that "the chef has left the building." It's got a bar (ok, I'm not a good one on that, cuz I don't drink). It's got a twelve (as I remember) item bar menu, and no other food. It's not a restaurant...be not confused. Don't go there expecting to get a meal.

We ordered the calamari and the wings. Yep, they were plenty ok.

But unless I just happened to drop in through the Twilight Zone, there's no restaurant there any longer.

I figgered' you'd want to know. :0)

We are regulars at The Hideaway and have seen them go from opening the new restaurant last year to apparently closing it as of this past week. We did not know they shut down, and found out upon walking in, sitting at the bar and overhearing a few people talking about it with the bartender. The new management and menu format never had a chance to get off the ground. Obviously the owners are making a very bad decision.

One of the worst dining experience I have had in years!! We came here for early dinner last night (Sunday @ 5:30 pm). My brother-in-law ordered a bottle of pellegrino to start with and 10 minutes later the waitress informed him that they ran out of pellegrino. Well, we were hoping that at least the food should be decent. Two people ordered prime ribs (available on weekends only), and I ordered "stack high" tri tip sandwich with bbq baked beans.

20 minutes after ordering, the waitress came back and said they ran out of prime ribs. It wasn't a busy night at all with only 2 other tables. It took them 20 minutes to figure out they don't have any prime ribs?!?? So they changed to ribeye steak - one medium and one rare.

After another 20 minutes, the waitress came back and said they ran out of bbq baked beans! This is unbelieveable...it takes them 40 minutes to figure out that they ran out of bbq baked beans too?!?? By that time, we were very unhappy with the whole experience. The waitress kept apologizing to us and said that they had a "new chef" and they just changed their menu.

After waiting nearly an hour, our food finally came...what a BIG disappointment! Both ribeye steaks were completely well done...not even a slight pink in the middle!!! My brother-in-law had to return the ribeye steak because it was so tough to eat. My father-in-law didn't even bother to return the steak and just finished half of his steak and decided to bring home the other half for our dog.

I could hardly see any meat on my "stack high" tri tip sandwich (as decribed on the menu)...I opened the sandwich and found two very thinly sliced meat (about 1 mm thin each)! The tri tip sandwich I got at Ralphs supermarket has way more meat than they do and taste a lot better for half of the price!!

We were so unhappy with the food and we asked the waitress where they got the horrible chef as their "new chef". Again, the waitress apologized and said it was actually their "sous chef" who is "usually very very good"! We also overheard the waitress apologizing to another customer as he leaves. As we left, we took a peak inside the kitchen and noticed that there was only one person at the stove and he looked pretty young! We didn't leave the restaurant until 7 pm b/c of the long delay and having to return overly cooked steak! Won't be coming back again! It's a shame since my father-in-law only lives blocks away from the restaurant and he did have decent experience with the restaurant before!!

This place is fun for both lunch and happy hour. They have yummy corn bread and I enjoyed their tuna sandwich. The caesar salad was a little disappointing as the dressing was bland. The service can also be a bit slow so make sure that your not in any rush.

We visited this restaurant on a Sunday morning for brunch and were quite disappointed, both with the service and the food. The menu is quite nice offering a great selection, however the quality of the food left a lot to be desired. They start off with a basket of cornbread at the table which is a nice touch however very greasy. My BF ordered the fritatta which he thought was very average. I ordered the chicken salad... the presentation was nice, but I needed a steak knife to cut through the chicken.. it was like wood. I waited and waited for the server to come back to check on us but it never happened so I had to get up to find her. She took the chicken back to the kitchen to return with a new piece, which was warmer than the original piece, but equally as tough.. seriously I thought I was chewing on shoe leather. Would not recommend dining here at all.

Went to dinner there last Sat. night. Good food, easy atmosphere, and the chef came to our table. This is a nice addition to the neighborhood.
The menu was truly different and the prices were reasonable.

Went to the Hideaway Restaurant @ the Lindero Country Club last night, very pretty outdoor setting, good friends, good food. The chef came out to greet us answered all our questions about the menu, all sounds great right? Just one downside......the rat that kept running around the restaurant. The staff didn't sound or act very concerned. The bus boy tried to scare it way but it ran right under our table. Fast forward to 3 women screaming and no one came over to say sorry, can we move you inside. When dinner was over and the waitress brought the check over I told her I thought it was a disgrace they didn't even comp at least 1 round of drinks she just smiled, so again I said please go back and tell them what I just said, we ate with our feet up in the air because the rat kept sneaking out from behind a heater. She went inside with the bill and our credit cards came out never said a word not I'm sorry they won't do it anything just put the cards on the table and walked away. Shame because we would have made this our Saturday place to go but never again. Thier loss our bill was just under $300.00 but business must be so good they couldn't care less about making their customers happy.

The food was delicious and creative. Service was excellent. My husband and I had the Calamari Steaks and our friends ordered Chicken and the Pork Chop. We all enjoyed our meals. Decent wine at reasonable prices. The cornbread is really yummy.

Very accommodating in changing out the side dish of edamame rice for the potatoes.

The menu though is so creative that there were not a lot of choices to us so our return would be limited. It's not a place you can frequently dine at because there is some much creativity. I'd like to see some balance in offerings. We will try it again sometime. We eat out frequently -but we can't find ourselves there weekly like we do at Marmalade Cafe where there is more variety.

The setting is very nice with great ambience. The chef was great, stopping by our table to chat. The food was ok. My steak was really chewy and a couple of friends that had the lamb said theirs was super chewy. The flavors were nice. The cornbread was awesome. My friend that got the salmon really enjoyed it. I can't say I'll be back.

We went there a couple of nights ago and I was pleasantly surprised. Everything we ordered was hot, fresh and delicious. The corn bread that they put on the table was outstanding. (I brought it home and had it for breakfast!) I wasn't very hungry so I just had the clam soup and crab cake. Both were great. My husband didn't like that he had to cut up his own lettuce for the cesear salad but loved his halibut. The chef came out twice to check on us. I'll definitely be going back to sample more of the menu.

i basically grew up down the street from the country club. i recently went back to check out the restaurant and to see what the new country club looked like.
I was impressed with how different everything looked. When I hung out by the pool and ran around this neighborhood with my friends was way back in the 80's so I kind of expected that old country club vibe that your parent's still hang out at.
The restaurant is great. It has a warm, trendy, upscale look and vibe which is reflected by the staff. I haven't sat outdoor on the patio but it looks beautiful. I have been in twice, once for a friend's bday, and again for my own bday. Both times Chef Grenner stopped by and chatted with us. I really think if a restaurant is small enough, the chef should make their rounds. I don't know what it is, but it strikes me as good hospitality.
i have had the raw vegetable salad both times. Im a sucker for great, fresh, abundant greens that doesn't swim in heavy dressing or isn't overpowered chunks of onions, garlic, etc. I ordered a pizza the first time and loved the idea of the outdoor, wood-burning stone oven. The Crab cakes with Quinoa hit me out of left field as I had never once had a decent crab cake in my life! And the Japanese squash ravioli, well, you just have to try it and do your own MMMMMM impression.
Both times I was there I ordered their Mojito. Loved it both times. I love having drinks at restaurants that are dim, dark, and swanky, so I can slide into a booth, have a drink , and be COZY while i dine and have a great conversation with friends! This is the best choice for a. a romantic dinner b. catching up with friends (at the bar, happy hour!) c. nice dinner with the family d. I'm sure dining by yourself, everyone is pretty nice there!
So, Kudos to this establishment. Maybe I gave it a little boost in the ratings because it used to be a childhood hangout, so I am a little nostalgic when I'm there, but the Chef, decor, food, and staff definitely do it justice!!!!

Well.. my wife and I are constantly on the prowl for good food. The Hideaway was a good find. We had the Crabcakes with cranberries, Top Sirloin & the Lamb Shank. I won't give it 5 stars since we've eaten at 3 Iron Chef restaurants.. but it's definitely worthy of 4 stars. Cozy Vibe, nested in the Country Club with great service. Best part of the night was they have this "roll the dice" game, if you roll a 7 or an 11 at the end of your meal you get a discount. We rolled an 11 and got a 50% discount. Lovin' that. :) We'll be back!

UPDATE - This place is closed.

The best kept secret in Agoura Hills.

The location is quite memorable for us, we had our rehearsal dinner here and we were married at the banquet hall on the property. The food here is incredible. The menu is small but jam packed with numerous delightful dishes from full entree's to incredible wood oven fired pizzas. There is a full bar that serves a solid drink and in my opinion they have a great wine selection.

We have had dinner here on numerous occasions. It's a hard place to stay away from and we think we figured out why. The fresh bread that is served once you're seated is very addictive. Or maybe it's the Cesar Salad... I know, I know - there is not much to Cesar Salad, but the dressing is something else, not like anything we have ever experienced... maybe it's the pizza! No it's got to be the appetizers.... or was it the dessert? Ok...so maybe I can't put my finger on what keeps us coming back. I can tell you that the last 2 times we have been there they were pretty full, so make a reservation.

Not sure what to order your first time there? See if the Chili of the day interests you. Or go for a wood fired pizza and the Cesar salad, this will leave you room for the dessert.

1st timers at this restaurant and we were very pleased. Food was incredible. Had all of our food from the specials and all were delicious! My hubby and I had a really great time. The service was incredible, never had to ask for a refill or for anything....they were bringing us things before we could ask! Used a http://Restaurant.com coupon to boot! Couldn't have asked for a better time all around.

I would have given the restaurant 3 1/2 stars if possible.

The Positives:
Food very good. Plate presentation excellent. E.g., the Caesar salad was wrapped in a crust of baked parmigiana. The chef/owner came to our table several times and was very friendly. Not noisy.

The negatives:
Service could be more professional and less clawingly attentive.

The restaurant lets you roll dice for a possible discount. That's not needed; the place stands on its own.

We'll go back.

We have been here twice now and plan on returning again.

Our first time here I had the Venison with the Prix Fixe menu and my wife had a Pizza. The Venison was cooked perfectly and the Foie Gras appetizer was wonderful.

The coffee was very bold and hot, just as we enjoy it.

It was also a pleasure that the Chef came out and talked to each table of guests.

Our second time we tried the Wine & Dine menu. Thy offer a two course and a three course option. We knew we only needed one dessert so we opted to get one of each. We both ordered different appetizers and main courses so we could try more items. It was nice to see that each item had their own wine to go with it.

The portions have always ample and delicious.

When they advertise 'Two or Three courses accompanied by a tasting of wine' I assumed that I was going to get something with my third course, dessert. I guess we all know what happens when one assumes.

The coffee this time was weaker and not quite a hot.

No Chef appearance this time, I hope he had the night off.

The place is kind of small but so far it has never been crowded, maybe because we have gone later in the evening.

They have a larger outdoor/enclosed room that looks like it is good for parties and this night there was a group of ladies enjoying their evening.

It will be nice to go here in the warmer months and enjoy the outside patio tables.

The Tri tip sandwich was great. Also I recommend the pea soup. The place was not crowded, but they need an expresso machine

First off, the good.

The steak I had was perfect. Savor every bit delicious. Their bread is fresh-- I wonder if they make it on site.

Atmosphere was good. Seemed to be many regulars, presumably members of the country club. The chef even stopped by tables to check on customers.

The only tiny little downside. Our server, while very sweet and charming, checked on us about every three minutes. Her motives were fine- she was just trying a little too hard to be helpful.

All in all- I'd go here again.

Romantic atmosphere indoors and outdoors. Great tasting appetizers, I ordered the Beets and it was very tasty. The pork chops were terrific. The chef came over to the table to greet us and to see if we enjoyed our meal. A great way to make you feel at home.
