Terrific stuff!! Bison burgers, great box lunch amazing Brunswick stew, and the baked breads and sweets are top of the line. Very clean, pleasant and terrific service. Do yourself a favor and make this a stop when you are anywhere near Grand Rivers.

I'm the first one?!  Wow - surprising to me since there's a lot to be said about this cute little cafe out in Western Kentucky!  I went to KY to visit family recently and stayed at the nearby Lighthouse Landings Resort.  The morning after I arrived, I decided to take a walk to see what was around and after a short uphill trek I decided I was in need of some coffee and some breakfast.  Lite Side Bakery & Cafe was directly in front of me, so I saw it as kismet and decided to have breakfast here.

There is an outdoor seating area, but it was a little rainy out so I decided that I'd eat inside.  Inside there is another small seating area and a glass case showing off delicious looking baked goods.  I thought about trying the Black Forest muffin, but my indecision showed on my face and the woman at the counter (who I got the impression is the owner) asked me if I'd like any help deciding.  She steered me toward the egg sandwiches, so I chose the breakfast sandwich with cheese and canadian bacon with a cup of coffee.

Their coffee is absolute delicious and was served to me in an oversized fiestaware mug.  As I sipped my coffee, I realized that I actually didn't have enough time to eat breakfast in the cafe.  I asked for my food to go, and was accomodated immediately.  The second woman working got me a to-go cup for my coffee and then topped me up so I had a full cup!  Talk abuot hospitality.  My sandwich was definitely unique - thick grilled bread with fluffy scrambled eggs, canadian bacon and chives sprinkled into American cheese.  I have to admit, I couldn't finish the whole thing, but it was delicious.  Also in the bag was a small serving of fresh fruit to go with my breakfast.  It was the perfect amount of light and sweet after such a savory sandwich.

To my extreme pleasure, my sister bought a box of muffins on her own, so the next morning I was able to try the Black Forest muffin after all.  German chocolate muffin with strawberry filler - so delicious I had to stop myself from shoving the whole thing in my mouth at once.

I don't know if I'll be back in  this section of Kentucky again, but if I am, I'll be back!
