Little Egypt is called a motorcycle club but don't let that fool you; they also allow ATV's and UTV's. We brought our standard Polaris RZR there this weekend and it was enjoyable. They have a lot of trails weaving in all different directions and most were marked. While most of the trails were fine for UTV's some of the non-marked trails are really only for smaller vehicles.

The staff was friendly and the placed seemed to be run by a family. They are only open Saturday and Sunday although you can rent it out during the week. They host motorcycle events so you may want to check before driving out there. The trails were groomed. In fact, the day we were there they were out working on them. Always a good sign. Although some storms had gone through at some point and there were trees blocking a couple of the trails but I got the feeling they are working on it. Some of the trails are quite rocky. Small jagged rocks - not boulders. They also had quite a bit of hills but nothing extreme, at least not on the main trails. One complaint which isn't the parks fault, more of the area: the trails didn't offer much variation. You rode one, you rode them all. The trails were marked but that could have been improved. There were a few times we thought we were on one trail only to find out weren't. Going with someone who knew the area would have helped.

The parking area was clean, well laid out, and plenty of it. They had a nice area with picnic tables underneath a structure to eat lunch in the shade. We went on a beautiful Saturday and felt like we had the place to ourselves. It was nearly empty. Like most parks, if it has just rained it could be very sloppy; if it hasn't rained in a while it will be dusty. This place is a 5 1/2 hour drive for us and if it was closer we probably would be back. For me, driving that distance I might as well drive another hour (taking a different route) and go to St Joe in Missouri. It offers a bit more variety.

It is only $12 to ride. Helmet and Illinois sticker required and the sticker is sold onsite (I think it is $11 and good for the year). Plenty of parking.
