My wife and I ate lunch today (6-20-13), and the first thing we noticed when we walked through the door was the energy this place gives off; it's palpable. Â The restaurant was pack with a line outside the door, so we decided to sit next to the wait-station at the end of the bar.
Kristen, our bartender, was engaging, bubbly, polite, and timely with her service. Â While we already felt comfortable, she helped us feel right at home.
We shared the Seafood bisque and it was delicious. Â While not what I expected, the broth was delicious and it contained plenty of seafood... it was almost like a bisque/stew to me, but I am NOT complaining!
I has the Reuben & Rachel, and my wife had the Gorgonzola Chicken Wrap. Â Our food came out much faster than expected, especially since the restaurant was FULL. Â We shared halves of our sandwich & Â wrap, and while we've had similar dishes at other pubs/restaurants, the food was far better than any place we've had them.
I'd go back there in a heartbeat, and if we lived in Ridgefield, we'd be regulars.
Little pub has quickly become a major staple in the lively, competitive, and challenging Ridgefield restaurant landscape. The parking lot is comical, the demand outweighs the available space to such a degree that it's become a common joke. Inside, the decor and atmosphere is second to none. It is one of the most distinctive spaces I've been in, and conjures up elements of every legendary pub environment you can think of, from northern Adirondack pubs to olde English taverns to Nordic climbing pubs and more. The menu sounds amazing, a great mix of classic pub fare with a real modern twist.
I often wish the reality of the food matched the demand, menu, and atmosphere. It's often mediocre, over or under spiced, and just not up to the hype.
If the actual food could live up to everything else...this would be a total home run.
Nobody goes there anymore. It's too crowded - Yogi Berra
Yogi was probably talking about the Little Pub, the parking lot is always full and the restaurant is always full, it's just has a great combination of ambiance, food and drink. Which by the way, the beer list is very good.
Try to go for lunch or get there a bit earlier for dinner, it's worth it.
