Lodge Sports Bar & Billiards

I have a friend who works here so I came to visit her and have a drink. I'd come here before with my brother and his gf but it was a different name and I guess I didn't remember that you could smoke in here. I turned 21 after moving away from Longview, so I haven't been to many of the bars here. In California you can't smoke inside the bars so it's definitely pretty surprising and a little overwhelming to come in and be hit by a wave of cigarette smoke. But we stayed for a beer. The bar was packed and all of the tables were full. The tables were a little cheap looking, like banquet tables or something but oh well they serve their purpose. We sat at the very end of the bar where we couldn't really see the bartenders behind some big machine. But the beer was cheap. The other night I could only see 3 pool tables, but I think the last time I came I remembered seeing 5-6. The atmosphere (minus the smoke) was what I like in a bar: kind of dark, not too horribly crowded, very casual. There was quite a few people to watch make fools of themselves, and you could walk around if you wanted since it has like 4 areas: 3 rooms with pool tables and one for the bar, tables and a huge tv. There were waitresses bringing the people playing pool new drinks too.

Not a bad place. The only drawback for non-smokers like us was that you could smoke inside. But since it was pretty big the smoke wasn't suffocating like some bars in Longview.
