This is a four-star review FOR AITKIN COUNTY. I am leaning toward 3 or 3.5 stars, but given it is one of the only options in the area, I'll give it some credit. Drink selection was good: microbrews from all over the country plus a full bar.
My boyfriend and I both enjoyed our entrées, but that could be because it was the only time we went out to eat for a month. I had the reuben, a salad, and fries, and I was quite satisfied. Not sure the salad was worth $5, though. The reuben was tasty, but I wish the Thousand Island were spread on the sandwich. My boyfriend had a steak, which he enjoyed. Service was good, atmosphere was better. When I was told we could sit by the fire, I was expecting a bit more than the small gas fireplace. But the decor is cute and cozy, so I can't complain too much. Overall, a good experience.
Great food, great atmosphere! Rustic yet classy. Cheers of the North woods!
The food is fabulous with many options from pizza to hand cut steaks, catering to everybody's taste! They also have house made specialty cocktails, great beer on tap, and an extensive wine list.
Whether you have been to The Lonesome Pine many times or a first timer the owners and the staff make you feel like you have been a lifelong regular. You are sure to be greeted with a warm welcome, a cheer, and a smile.
The owners are not only committed to their restaurant but also to Bay Lake, the greater community, and their guests. You can find them organizing both social events and fundraising events for the lake and the community.
Whether I stop there by car on the way to the cabin or boat over on an evening cruise I know I am "home" when I get to The Lonesome Pine.
Definitely a must stop!
Just had the most perfect fathers day dinner. Great food (they have all the favorites, something for everyone), atmosphere and beer selection. The pizza is perfection and my very picky dad enjoyed his steak. Â It must say something when a local "big wig" is eating here with his family rather than his own lodge.
Review Source:They are a step up from your typical Lake area bar and tavern! Â Good mix of beers on tap, and it is hilarious when someone "blows the keg" and gets their tee shirt stating that fact. Â The owner is super friendly and mingles with the guests. Â Had the rachel sandwich and it was very good. Â 5 HD TVs in the bar area so good place to catch a game.
Review Source:This place has "up north" written all over it. In a good way. The Lonesome Pine is a great place to grab a burger, some mozzerella sticks, a pizza, or a steak after an exhausting day on the lake. Large bar, even larger restaurant. Very woodsy feel--log bar stools, deer/fish/birds on the walls. But it's still bright and open. Great service. Family friendly.
