First let me tell you that I am biased when it comes to the Long Shot Saloon because my step-dad owns the place. Â This is one reason I wanted my 100th review to be special although it may be short and to the point. Â Steve bought the bar and completely transformed if from a smoke filled POS to a welcoming, all age encompassing, cute bartender servin' hot spot. Â I go here just about every day that I am in town at least for a beer before going out on the town and finish with one at last call. Â
Long Shot has (2) pool tables and a up to date electronic dart board. Â Awesome choices on the digital jukebox, lots of tables and bar stools, and Steve even set up the Wii on once of his big screens. Â Beers are cheap and shots are always flowing. Â Bathrooms are above par for a dive bar and he's currently building a smokers area out back to make it more comfortable instead of being out in the cold. Â There are food options, mostly deep fried, but he is hoping to expand in the near future. Â You can still get pizzas and I think burgers, but not sure.
I do feel obligated to tell you that this IS a South Marquette hangout. Â For visitors don't let this scare you away and think someone is going to beat you up. Â Just tell them that you were told to come in for a beer by Steve or his step son Jeff from Cleveland. Â You may see some shady characters in there but they are kept in line by all the young kids that call this place their home, including my 3 brothers that are always there. Â Their names are Eric, Shayne, and Tony. Â EVERYONE knows who we are if they are regulars so feel free to hop in for one, especially if you are looking for a challenging game of pool or darts. Â At the least you will get cute bartenders. Â Enjoy....Jeff T.
