Lookout House

My inlaws live in nearby Hazleton and my father-in-law suggested we all go here, after someone told him to go...what a great call. I noticed one of the other reviews said don't be fooled by the building (or the motor hotel across the parking lot), I agree with this. You can either dine in the dining room with white table clothed tables or in the bar. We chose the bar, which was full of locals and turned out to be a fun, cozy place to dine, very old school if you know what I'm saying.

The food is all homemade and you really can't go wrong with anything. I had chicken in a red wine mushroom sauce and a side of homemade fries (think 5 guys fries but handcut). My wife and father-in-law had pulled beef sandwiches with onion rings. The rings were huge and hand battered and the beef was amazing, pulled brisket with no fat. My mother-in-law had pulled pork which was also very tasty.

This place will leave you full and wanting to come back for more. I highly recommend it if youre looking for something off the beaten path. Also, say hi to Mike the owner, he's always eager to please.
