The food was decent. I ordered a chicken Caesar salad and a diet soda. The three stars comes from the overall atmosphere. There were shelled peanuts ALL over the floor (like piles) when you walked in, and the floors were dirty. On the plus side, the wait staff was incredibly friendly and prompt, and the food was good. Also, there is plenty of parking, and the place seemed to attract a sizeable crowd.
Review Source:Just had beers and peanuts here after skiing. Â Great location with a nice vibe. Â Packed with people in the best way. Â The beer was cold and delicious and the self-serve peanuts were a salty treat after a long day on the slopes. Â The bartenders were all beautiful and friendly. Â Not sure how the food is because I didn't try it. Â A great place!
Review Source:Saturday Happy Hour yesterday was jam packed! Decent beer prices and good wing special. It was 10 for $4.50. Since it was the happy hour wing special, there are no flavor choices, it is one flavor. Yesterday it was jerk BBQ.
The wings were good. I would return here if in town again. I saw a burger at the next table over and they looked good. If we were not there just for happy hour, I would have ordered a burger because it looked that good!
Came here for New Years Eve and was pleasantly surprised. For $40 a person you got a full dinner buffet, a champagne toast, but no live band. But that didn't really matter to me.
I can't really comment much on the food and drinks because NYE is different than the average night. But I can say that the interior is all wooden, they have pool and Buck Hunter, the staff was nice and patient (the girls in my group must have called 10 times during the day), and the atmosphere is relaxed (more so than some of the popular night spots on the Access Road like the Pickle Barrel).
I'll surely be checking this place out again for an apres ski.
I hit this place during the summer, but the Lookout Tavern is now officially my new stop during the snow season for post-slope eats!
I came in for a beer during happy hour while spending last weekend doing some Appalachian Trail hiking. I was happy to find that they offered a half off wings special from 3 to 6 PM, so I had to try them. They were so authentically homemade and delicious. The wings were meaty and the sauce was amazing: Jamaican Jerk-esque. The fresh Long Trail Double White on tap definitely helped their cause, too.
I bet this place gets really packed during ski season because although it's huge, even the Pickle Barrel down the street gets obscenely crowded. Staff was super friendly, and didn't mind at all that we moved from the upstairs deck to an indoor booth downstairs when it started to drizzle.
See you this winter, Lookout Tavern!
Friendly staff, thorough too, when I asked if the tuna wrap had onions, at first answer was no, but my server wanted to make sure and asked the chef, and sure enough there was onion in the tuna mix... So I had a great burger instead! Cooked how I ordered it, tasty roll and plenty of good fries. I don't get to Killington often, but I'll go back to the Lookout when I do...
Review Source:Food and service are good here! Â Love the crab stuffed mushroom and other bar snacks. Â Also really good tropical cocktails and awesome bar tenders, especially the older dude with a sick stach - he makes a mean cocktail and if you're nice to him, may even let you taste some of the un-known on-tap beers.
Love a bar where you can throw peanut shells all over the place..
I come here a lot because it is close to the mountain and people that I know like it. I keep going back but it is not that great. happy hour is just wings-- what about the ladies?? no women that I know eat wings.

Had an order of the buffalo wings to start which were nice and crispy ( happy hour on the wings 3-6, just missed it but still worth the full price). I had the left coast burger it was a nice thick burger but needed more guacamole. Overall the experience was good and I would definitely return.
Review Source:This is the second time I came to eat at the Lookout tavern.  Last year when I visited the place for the  first time, I did not really pay that much attention to my overall experience but this time I feel somewhat obligated to leave a review simply because I have been using yelp on more regular basis.
Anyway, The place tends to get busy since they have a happy hour and sell wings at half the price which apparently attracts visitors. Plus I have to admit that the ambiance is somewhat  attractive and the wooden interior makes the place look like a mountain cabin which gives it a cozy appeal.
We were seated right away. Our server was pleasant and helpful, however, the food was mediocre at the most. I ordered a brisket sub and my wife got a turkey sandwich( also got an appetizer and beer for drinks). Our intention was to swap half of each sandwich and try them both. When the food arrived , I was surprised to see that the brisket was chopped and prepared in bbq sauce. Maybe it was my mistake not to ask and simply assume that the brisket would be filet of brisket rather than chopped one. Anyway, it did not taste fresh but it rather had a stale flavor of something that might have come out of a can, or it was frozen.
The turkey sandwich was bland. The turkey was dry, and it lacked the texture of what a fresh turkey meat would have had.
The sandwiches came with french fries which were over-salted.
All in all, the food choices which we made did not make any lasting impression on us and if I had to chose the place based on the menu , I would rather go somewhere else.
Another thing which annoyed me a bit was that some random girl who was not our server, came to our table twice and repeatedly asked if we were ready and whether  we needed the left overs wrapped in a  to go box where we were still working on the food. I understand that there were other people waiting but I dislike to be rushed on such an unprofessional manner since I am a customer as well.
Anyway, I am prob not returning back to that place for now...
I have been there to drink many times after skiing. Great bar with a barrel of peanuts by the door. They encourage you to drop the shells on the floor! Almost worth going just to make a mess.
Their food is good too. Nothing fancy but good.
They are also open out of season.
Worth a visit. Good range of beers too.
Maybe I went to this place on an off night but it was not good. I ordered medium well burger and it was really badly burnt. other guys at my table ordered medium and 2 were very well done and the other very rare.
I had french onion soup that was overpowered by a ton of dried oregano. the service was not outstanding either. Â Will not go again.
The Lookout is a great bar with excellent food. Â Choices range from standard burgers and chicken sandwiches to full meals. Â The burgers are the best on the Killington Road and I have never had a bad meal in my many visits. Â The menu is a good blend of sandwiches, salads, a bit of decent Mexican, fish and chips, a wonderful meatloaf and so on. Â Deserts are mostly homemade by the owner. Â Large full service U-shaped bar with local microbrew drafts. Â Plenty of booths and tables in addition to the bar. Â Outdoor deck for summer seating. Â Friendly causal service.
