Louise Open Pit Barbeque

After further travel, I cannot recommend the squash dressing if you are on a road trip.  You are warned...

This is one of the non-chain places located in Crystal Springs. It is right off of the Interstate and HWY 27 and is a better option than others. The place looked a little rundown from the outside and in, but the food tasted fresh and vibrant. It was definitely a no thrills experience, but it seemed like a popular place with the locals, which is always a good sign.

The BBQ sauce had some zing and so did the little old lady behind the lunch counter plating orders! I had the chopped pork plate with baked beans and potato salad. I would have given them five stars but the pork was a little on the tough side. Other than that, I loved it. The service was speedy and friendly and the price easy on the wallet.
