I traveled to Sulphur Springs for a business trip and decided to try LouVinney's for dinner. I sat at the bar and immediately noticed their draft beer selection, which included breweries like St. Arnold's, 312, Deschutes, etc. Definitely a good start.
For dinner I tried The Wildcat, a sliced beef sandwich with green peppers, onions, Swiss cheese and slaw on a hoagie roll. Adding some of their signature honey mustard sauce, it was a great combination of flavor, well-balanced overall and definitely fresh. Though not baked in house, the hoagie roll was fresh, soft and the right amount of bread for the sandwich. The fries were also excellent, especially when dipped in the honey mustard sauce.
Lastly, the service was great. Very polite, attentive and more than willing to allow customers to sample beers to make the right selection.
I would absolutely recommend this place and will certainly come back next time I'm in town.
We were in town for our annual golf weekend @ Links @ Lands End. SS is a small town (compared to DFW) and we decided to use our Yelp app to see if there were any new places in town to eat. We found LouViney's, read previous reviews, and decided to give it a try. We arrived on a Sat evening, about 7:30. The place was packed. We did have to wait about 10 min. for a table, for a Sat. pretty reasonable. They had a 1-man live music w/ some back-up music/vocals (he played guitar & sang). He was pretty good, a bit loud for my taste for the front dining room. We did ask to sit in the bar area, and with the partial wall, the music was perfect for us. We asked our waitress what she would recommend and went with the blackened chicken/dirty rice/salad, and my partner had shrimp scampi w/ dirty rice. We did share our meats. It was wonderful, and a steal at $10 per entrée. We also split a regular bread pudding ($4!) that was plenty for 2, it was the perfect finish for our meal. Even though they wer super busy, our waitress kept our water glasses filled and  chatted with us. When we were leaving a large party of 15-20 were being seated in the back bar area. A guy (assumed he was the owner/manager) asked us how everything was. We told him we were very pleased and that we had found them on Yelp. He seemed super pleased we had come in. Building is in old downtown area, by the courthouse, and they were having a festival over the Labor Day holiday. Nice, quaint area...If in Sulphur Springs, check them out...
