I traveled to Sulphur Springs for a business trip and decided to try LouVinney's for dinner. I sat at the bar and immediately noticed their draft beer selection, which included breweries like St. Arnold's, 312, Deschutes, etc. Definitely a good start.
For dinner I tried The Wildcat, a sliced beef sandwich with green peppers, onions, Swiss cheese and slaw on a hoagie roll. Adding some of their signature honey mustard sauce, it was a great combination of flavor, well-balanced overall and definitely fresh. Though not baked in house, the hoagie roll was fresh, soft and the right amount of bread for the sandwich. The fries were also excellent, especially when dipped in the honey mustard sauce.
Lastly, the service was great. Very polite, attentive and more than willing to allow customers to sample beers to make the right selection.
I would absolutely recommend this place and will certainly come back next time I'm in town.
We were in town for our annual golf weekend @ Links @ Lands End. SS is a small town (compared to DFW) and we decided to use our Yelp app to see if there were any new places in town to eat. We found LouViney's, read previous reviews, and decided to give it a try. We arrived on a Sat evening, about 7:30. The place was packed. We did have to wait about 10 min. for a table, for a Sat. pretty reasonable. They had a 1-man live music w/ some back-up music/vocals (he played guitar & sang). He was pretty good, a bit loud for my taste for the front dining room. We did ask to sit in the bar area, and with the partial wall, the music was perfect for us. We asked our waitress what she would recommend and went with the blackened chicken/dirty rice/salad, and my partner had shrimp scampi w/ dirty rice. We did share our meats. It was wonderful, and a steal at $10 per entrée. We also split a regular bread pudding ($4!) that was plenty for 2, it was the perfect finish for our meal. Even though they wer super busy, our waitress kept our water glasses filled and  chatted with us. When we were leaving a large party of 15-20 were being seated in the back bar area. A guy (assumed he was the owner/manager) asked us how everything was. We told him we were very pleased and that we had found them on Yelp. He seemed super pleased we had come in. Building is in old downtown area, by the courthouse, and they were having a festival over the Labor Day holiday. Nice, quaint area...If in Sulphur Springs, check them out...
Review Source:I visited LouViney's for the first time today and had the blackened salmon with dirty rice and green beans. I've had salmon dishes all over the country from Canada to south Texas. This dish was one of the best I've ever eaten. My son had the buffalo chicken nachos and I've never had nachos that good. For desert my son had the fried bread pudding with white chocolate Ghirardelli sauce. I would have never thought to fry bread pudding, but this was delicious. The bread was cut in strips and ended up with a crispy caramelized texture dusted lightly with powdered sugar kind of like French toast strips.
Review Source:Lou Viney's has a wonderful atmosphere, superb food and the greatest staff. Â I met family there and we all loved our meals. Â The forks were moving from plate to plate which included appertizers, entree and desserts. I had the Sweet Chili Glazed Salmon - fresh salmon filet seasoned and pan seared, topped with sweet chili sauce and it was made with perfection. I thoroughly loved every bite. We can't wait to go back.
Review Source:We were only in town for one night and came to Lou vineys because if good yelp reviews, and it was great! Super friendly staff, really delicious food, and smiles abound. We were scared being two girls in a couple in small town Texas but they gave us no hassle at all. Quite the opposite! We went back for breakfast!
Review Source:So glad to see a restaurant flourish in Sulphur Springs. Â Ate here with some family and friends this evening and we really enjoyed ourselves. Â I had the evening special and two others had steak and two others had the bourbon chicken. Everyone said they really liked what they got. Â The waitress was a kick in the butt sweet. Great ambiance. Will be back when I am in town to try the Elvis Pie!

The people were extremely friendly, the service excellent, and the food was not only fresh and freshly prepared but was delicious from first bite to last. The have a nice bar with a good selection of wines and beers. This place will definitely be one of our regular stops.
We just stopped in for a bite.... The place was really good, friendly service, family owned and operated. Their Cabernet was really good has won top red in Texas award.
Overall my crew of 5 really enjoyed it and it wasn't expensive. I will definitely return if I'm in sulphur springs Texas again.
