Food is good but service is horrible. The manager came by to give us a card for a free appetizer after half our table didn't get food because the waiter forgot to put it in. We had to go to the bar to get our drinks. I could have dealt with it because I know things happen. It was the fact that no one was concerned about the crappy service that was the problem.
Review Source:Typical bar food quality and experience. Went on a Friday evening and it got crowded. They advertised crawfish being served at 7 so I ordered that and it showed up at 7:45. Why would the serve that so late anyway? Â Get that s##t out at 5 or 6 on a weekend night. Sheesh. Not worth the wait and service was also typical bar service where waitstaff would forget to bring you things until 30 minutes later when you finally wave down another person. Â It stays crowded so I guess I just had a different experience. If you are from Houston or Louisiana, stay away from the crawfish or just flush $11 down the toilet and save yourself some time.
Pros: Â good location on main highway
The waitstaff is always friendly and we love the laid back atmosphere. Â So far the food we've had has been really good. Â Pulled pork sandwich-amazing! Â Grilled fish tacos are really good. Â Cheeseburger really good, too. Â The Ahi Tuna salad is good- the tuna cooked perfectly, but I'm not a fan of it being just "plopped" on large pieces of Romaine lettuce that I have to saw through along with the large pieces of tomato and cucumber. Â The dressing is really good too though. Â All-in-all we've eaten here and taken the food to go at least 6 times and haven't been disappointed.
Review Source:I remember the first time I went here, the food was fantastic. Â Great burgers, and the home fries were my reason for returning. Â The beer selection on tap is good, and the cool stuff on the walls give a great atmosphere.
For the past few years, it seems every time we go in, the menu has changed. Â The burgers are over done, and they don't have the home fries any more. I asked them if they could make them for me, and they said no, and just had an attitude about it. Â Â Really? Â
I can't remember what my husband ordered last time, but he wasn't crazy about it. Â . Â Service is just "ok"...not as good as it used to be.
About the only time I'll be stopping in here from now on is to sit at the bar and have a beer.  Hopefully they won't change  their beer selection.
WOW! What a hidden gym on Canyon Lake. I didn't even know about this place until a client of mine bought me a Groupon to go here.
This is an awesome sports bar and grill with really cool sports memorabilia on the walls and plenty of flat screen TVs for all the games. The staff is more than friendly and you feel like you are at home with your friends.
The food rocked, I had a NOLA Burger and it was awesome. My friend got something with pork and it was so tender and great.
I highly recommend this place for the entire atmosphere.
Came here with a coworker after a Team Outing at Canyon Lake. It was close by..on the way home and we were starving! Wasn't sure what to expect, but definitely nothing out of this world. I was beyond surprised! I ordered the chicken tacos and the homemade tortillas were still warm. The Borracho Beans, you could actually taste the beer! Funny but i had to ask because the server wasn't even aware that there was actual beer in them. Needless to say.. hope you're not on the wagon because you just fell off! AMAZING food! Definitely recommended to those out near Canyon Lake..you won't be disappointed!
Review Source:i agree with Shelly - the TiKi avocado salad is great! Â It is drenched wth garlic oil and big enough for 3 or 4 people (or two hungry ones).
Lots of lunch specials - our favorite is the fried catfish plate with fries and slaw. Â The hamburgers are good as are the chopped steak with gravy. Â Service has always been fast. Â Overall, a great place to stop for lunch or dinner.
Great food and service, we ordered the Parlay Platter (appetizer sampler). the firecracker shrimp sauce and the lemon sauce for crab cakes was excellent. The spicy fries, were really spicy I really liked it but it's only  for people who like spicy food. Gumbo was really good , I wish it was less salty. The service was excellent, especially our waitress Daryl. She had genuine smile and hospitality, We haven't seen such a nice attitude for a long long time.
Review Source:If you are going to create an entire menu of food that vegetarians and vegans can not eat, then you NEED to allow accommodations.
Here is what I wanted:
nachos
without: cheese, sourcream, or pico
instead, please add: salsa
and: I can't have meat, so since I'm not getting it or cheese/sourcream, can I have guac instead?
The server told us she'd have to charge for the guacamole anyway.
Really? Your owner/manager wants me to spend $10.50 on:
chips, beans, jalapenos, and guacamole? Like HELL I'm doing THAT!
from their menu: "South Texas Nachos homemade chips with refried beans, melted cheddar jalapenos, pico de gallo, sour cream, and beef or chicken. $8.95 Add Guac $1.45"
Solution #1) offer *something* for vegetarians/vegans. I'm not picky. I'll even look the other way if your veggie burger has an egg in it. But you have to put something additional on the menu if you want to grow your business and bring in more customers.
Solution #2) adjust the nachos to a build-your-own version. Standard beans/cheese are one price and each additional ingredient is whatever you need to charge to make it work. $1.45 for guac. $2.50 for beef or chicken, $.50 for sour cream. It's a little more work for the server ('cause, you know, touching those buttons on the "diner dash" screen is just so HARD!), but it ensures that the customers get what they want and can have without being extorted.
Why: Why would the restaurant go to this effort?
1) LOT's of people eat a "Meatless Monday" What if they could do that at Lucky's?
2) not all carnivores are married to other carnivores. If *I* can't go there, *we* won't go there.
3) I settled for two sides. While they were both lovely, you made less money and your server made less money. I was going to spend $9, but instead spent $4.50.
Stars:
Menu: 0-1*
Service was better than 3* but her hands were tied and she could not accommodate my very reasonable request.
Food 4-5*.
Atmosphere 1-2* (very dated decor)
I'd really like to give Lucky's 2.5 stars, but I'll round up to 3 because I'm nice. I hope they read their reviews and implement some customer ideas.
The food here is surprisingly good and not what you expect in a bar type atmosphere. I have been there a few times, and have been quite impressed with the service, and it is a very good casual meal. Every once in a while they have live entertainment that absolutely rocks! This place is highly recommended.
Review Source:We recently had our rehearsal dinner at Lucky's Kitchen and Cocktails and we were highly impressed with the food and service.  We wanted a family-style fajita dinner to give a small taste of Texas for all our non-Texas family.  Toby laid out a menu for us (that wasn't on the original menu) and was well prepared when we arrived.  The whole dinner went very smooth and the service was wonderful!  We had at least 2 waitstaff taking our drink orders and making sure we had everything we needed eventhough all the food had been pre-planned.  We are very thankful for the wonderful food and service that they provided us - everyone raved about the guacamole and  all the different fajita meats.  Thank you so much for making our rehearsal dinner relaxing and delicious.
