LOL, this place! This is one of my favorite dive bars to visit when I am in Havasu. They have cheap beer and a cheap dollar menu. (don't expect much) The bartenders may be cute but don't order a mix drink. Â I have tried several bartenders and most of them have served me the worst margarita I ever tasted. I guess if I was 21 again and looking for a drink that taste like pure alcohol this might be your place. Â The kitchen is limited to bar food only. Â I once asked for a veggie bowl and they served me canned corn and fried onions. The worst thing I have seen was the bartenders breaking a glass in the cooler and didn't wash or empty out the cooler. They just remove the visible broken glass and keep stacking. Â The place gets a little dirty from time to time. I tend to get the best service at the bar. Â Each time my friends and family eat at a table we always end up getting slow and sloppy service. (MANICURE YOUR TABLES PEOPLE) The only good thing about this place is the location, the cheap dollar menu and the happy hour food.
Review Source:Well we tried this place twice - 1st time May 1 and Aaron was our bartender/server. Service pretty good, Long Island Iced Tea in too small glass&strong. $1 tacos were sorta good but for only $1 ........... Buzztime Trivia is what we look for when we travel and it was here.
Second time was the next day with I think her name was Andria or something similar to that. Service not as good-she seemed angry or something. I especially noticed the SLAMMING of the empty beer bottles into the trash! Startled me a few times and we didn't stay as long as first day. All you can eat fish was pretty good, pieces HUGE.
Overall, we don't love it, don't hate it-like I said we follow the Buzztime.
Had a few friends up and thought we would try out Mad Dogs for lunch and a few beers. Well to start off with the service was horrible! Then our order was not correct but the kicker was the COCKROACH that was crawling on the window in the middle of the day. Went to get the waitress and the darn thing fell onto our table and then right onto our friends shirt! The manager just happened to walk up at that point and said "oh I guess I will comp your meal". Â REALLY???? Gross will never step foot in that place again. If the roaches are coming out in the middle of a beautiful sunny day, can you imagine when it gets dark, where there is one there are many many more! GROSS......
Review Source:Great Thursday $1.00 tacos
I really liked this place, great mix of people. Excellent service from a very friendly waitress even though the place was packed inside and out. $1.00 tacos 5 or 6pm(?) -10pm - your choice shredded beef, chicken or pork - very tasty. Large selection of beer. Lots of flat screen TV's on every wall. $30.00 for a bunch of tacos and beer for the three of us.
Came in on Thursday night and the place was packed! Â My husband and I sat at the bar and had a few drinks before we ordered. Â I thought it was strange that they had 2 menu items with the same name, the Californian, which is either a burger or a chicken sandwich. Â I clearly order the chicken Californian and I was given the burger. Â I think the bartender was a little bit of a himbo. Â I finally asked him why it was so busy tonight and he said 'oh I forgot to tell you it's $1 taco night' Â I probably would have done $1 taco night too instead of spending $10 on a chicken sandwich. Â My husband ordered wings and a burger. Â The wings never came, then the bartender said the ticket never printed. Â My husband got his burger then a few mins later the wings came. Â They looked pretty good, but I did not try any.
Food was good and service was ok. Â It always seems like when you're ready to check out and your credit card is sitting on the bar that the bartenders are all of the sudden blind.
Mad Dogs Bar & Grill is the perfect Sunday Football location when in Havasu. Tons of seating, friendly staff, plenty of TVs, and super fun atmosphere! It's definitely one of the nicer sports bar I've been to in Havasu.
Plus, the prices here are amazing! $1.75 domestic on Sundays! Wow. Being an LA girl, I can never get use to Havasu prices!! Love it!!!
PS. Come here early. Doors open at 11am and there's a line at 10:30!
Taco might. Â
It's a bar. And it is loud. Â Sure it will be louder later on.
Lots of big screen tvs and sports playing.
I was very disappointed with the shredded beef taco. Â Mine were filled with globs of beef fat. Â Soft taco was cold like it was just taken out of the package... they are only a dollar and you get what you pay for. Â Won't be coming back for taco night. Â
Had other food there and it was fine... just don't do the tacos. Â Not good at all. Â I'm sorry. Â I really wanted to give a better review than that.
The lemonade was good.
I cannot decide how to review Mad Dog because this bar has multiple personality disorder.  Come on a Friday or Saturday night and youare likely to knock heads with a bunch of caucasian backwards baseball hat  tattoo sporting massive beer drinking knuckleheads with their overly long board shorts dropping somewhere far below their waistline. If you are a female of any persuasion they will try and hit on you inappropriately. if you are a man be prepared for the big star down or to be challenged in some way.
However, go in on a quiet night and receive amazingly pampeering bar service by a friendly and competent bartender, have the run of the pool table, easy visual access to one of the many tvs tuned to sports and an all around great time.
Frankly, there's always some kind of fun to be had at Mad Dogs. Â But why oh why does no bar in Lake Havasu city carry FSW?
Been going here for years, seriously since I was a kid. Great place to get drinks and a bit. After a day on the lake, it's the perfect place to come chill and have a good burger.
Keep in mind it is a bar so if you're looking for spectacular service, your expecting too much. You get your food when it's hot, drinks when they're cold and it's up to you to have a good time.
We came in after a long afternoon at the lake and we were a group of twelve hankering for grub. Our host mentioned Mad Dogs famous all you can eat fish and chips and we were golden.
After getting our seats all in order, we were ready for the grub. The waitress was prompt and efficient, providing the necessary libation for the crew. We were a rowdy bunch so we tested the mettle of our beleaguered order taker. In the meantime, we whiled our way watching the ball game on their multi-plasma screen tv's or talking about our day's exploits. It wasn't that hectic that night so service favored us.
The fish and chips kept coming and coming. I seem to gobble a nets' catch of perch or whitefish; which ever it was, it tasted good. Plenty of tartar sauce and malted vinegar came through, as well as pitchers of beer. All in all, it was satisfactory.
Fifteen bucks plus tip was the total. Not bad.
Been here like 6-8 times over the years and I really tried to like it but, it just ain't working. I had pretty much given up until a recent discovery of coupons at restaurant dot com. So, armed with my coupon off we go.
The food, at best, has always been just OK. Nothing special. We tried a wide range of stuff too, pizza, chili dog, steak sandwich and other sandwiches. All just OK/average bar food.
For the service.....I'm tempted to give them 1 star. I have never had friendly or good service here. And, I'm usually OK with getting just one of those.....not here, ever. It's definitely a locals and Havasu "regulars" kinda place that been here forever. I'm not one of those woooo-hooooo-hey-look-at-me kinds and usually here during off peak times. Not sure why I always get the feeling I shouldn't be here at Mad Dogs?
Anyway, all the ingredients are here for a great place, new flat screens everywhere, nice big space, booths, tables, huge bar, pool tables, etc. I'd settle for good by why not be great? Especially in a city that's LOADED with these Bar & Grills.
