The Magnet Billiards and Bar

Quite an eclectic clientele at this pool hall/bar/eatery.  The home of the famous "Magnet chili dog", this place has quite a history.  It was the first Wisconsin tavern, as of 15 June1940, to be issued a beer-only license.

The clientele is a bit scary, yes, but it's a good place to play pool and darts.  They've really cleaned up the place, redone the bathrooms--it looks nice.  And there's a good selection of music.  I like the place, and I don't mind putting up with some iquestionable people once in a while.

Get a Peeps from Ed or Arny or Dorothy, a famous Magnet Hot Dog over a  million sold, light a cig, and lay it on the rail. Thrill Is Gone sings slowly on, Dave Butt sings along. It's Letourneau, Backus, LaRose, Gillingham, Mark, and more, boys with sticks that I hadn't thought of in years. Cold Wisconsin night walking home down Division, ghost of Stank, lights in Gibson's, pizza wafting from Jess N' Nicks, Rambler dealer with Honda bikes, A&P, Louarti's, Rocket 88 atop the dealer, passing Pam's, and Emb's, Propson's and Geislers.
Yeah, it's lowlife. Buddy you can't even dream of the spirits blowing in and around that place, faintly dangerous, oh yes. Your shot, fish.
