Unfortunately pretty bad. It was rather full so we thought it would be a good option. The service was extremely slow, we were sat quickly but it took 5+ min to get a waiter over- the table next to us had problems with their order I guess and he was fixing it. There was a ton of staff 12+ at least, I made a game of counting then as we waited for our pizza that took an hours. The Caesar salad was drenched in Cheese and warm dressing-I probably wouldn't have eaten it but was starving. We barely saw our waiter, he was nice but harried and the pizza when it did come was not thin crust as ordered but an inch thick and tasted like frozen dough. It was bland and could have been a diggornios.
It looks like they really need help training staff, it is always strange to be in a place that had lots of staff but has a sloooow kitchen and in attentive service. The table next to us waited 40 minutes for dessert... No apologies for the long wait, just a general denial of the situation. The manager? Did come over to us after we had been looking around desperately for any sign of our food, the pizza came shortly after that but nobody checked in until after we had finished. I would not recommend this place. Â I did want to like it and hopefully they can get staff and food up to speed, otherwise I think it's all tourists that make up the business.
I really enjoyed my special which was a Cornish game hen. The pizza was also delicious. The atmosphere was nice. The wine made me tipsy which is always a plus. The woman who was singing that night was "aiight", but that's off topic. I would still come back again because the food is good and I really miss my Memorial Day weekend.
Review Source:We happened to stumble onto this place when we didn't want to wait for a table at boon. I was a little apprehensive about the quality of the food here since it didn't seem to be as busy. We ordered the special polenta appetizer and a pear and prosciutto pizza. To my surprise the food was good! The polenta was really yummy and flavorful and the pizza was also very tasty. So what this place lacks in ambiance makes up in good hearty food.
Review Source:This place seems to have some kind of cabaret-style entertainment most nights (the website describes the schedule). The restaurant is divided into three distinct areas. A bar, separated by a wall from the entertainment/dining side, and a couch-filled coffee lounge in the back. On Sunday my partner and I decided to give it a try and found ourselves in the middle of a locals open mic night. There was a pianist, acoustic guitars, a clarinet, a kazoo and lots of singing along all of which was completely adorable.
This informal entertainment felt somewhat at odds to the fairly formal yet charming and attentive service. The menu, similarly, is a mish-mash of upmarket concepts and traditional pub fayre. We ordered a couple of items from the disorienting  "antipasti" section of the menu, a list of side dishes mixed with appetizers formatted in such a way that it was difficult to tell where one item ended and another begun, and once they were served, concluded that their use of "antipasti" to describe these dishes probably suggested that they intend for folk to eat family-style.
Being European and still unfamiliar with the habit of measuring pizzas in inches, we accidentally ordered two 13" deep dish pizzas which would easily serve three people each. These tasted great on the night, and for the following two meals, so it wasn't a disaster.
If I could give Main Street Station zero stars, I would!!!!
I'll admit that our group was large. (Eleven ladies, to be exact.) But our experience was awful from the beginning. I currently have to use crutches to get around because of a broken ankle. We were seated, and then some random bitch just comes up to the table and starts taking my crutches away without saying a word! Of course, I stopped her and she said she was moving them so no one would trip. (My crutches were upright and clearly visible, random bitch.) She proceeds to take them and store them in another part of the restaurant!!!!!!!!!! WHO THE FUCK DOES THAT?!?!?
The service was awful. We were never told what the specials were. When I asked, random bitch didnt know. I asked for a wine list. It took maybe 15 minutes for me to get one. I ordered a carbonara pasta thing with kale. I could tast and feel the sand in the kale. I also ordered the brussels sprouts, which tasted burned. Our server couldn't total up our bills correctly so we spent more time there than we needed.
Overall, the only redeeming part of this experience was the company.
I always feel that when one goes into a place to have a meal, if you are welcomed by a greeter and seated, the experience would be nice as well. I'm usually correct on that! Â Â
II was with a friend.
We were greeted by a nice guy who was at the door, he walked us to our table and told us the server would be right with us.
We waited about 15 minutes, the place was almost empty so it wasn't busy.
I then noticed a server walk from the bar area, she had been watching TV. She walked over to our table handed us the menus and disappeared to the back.
after another 10 minutes she came back and asked if were ready to order.
I asked about certain items, she looked at me with a blank look & said she didn't have an answer, so I stopped asking.
We both ordered the fish dinner with veggies.
My fish was apparently frozen because it was tasteless & dry, even lemon didn't help. Â Â Â Â My friend's fish also was the same.
After our meal the server asked if we wanted desert, I noticed that the menu said
"New York Cheese Cake" Â I asked her if it was real NY style and not a
Sara Lee copy. She assured me that it was NY style. Â Well, when it arrived almost 15 minutes later, it was Sara Lee lemon frozen style!
I think when we go back to Guernville for our vacation, we will seek out other places & eat at a small pizza place we discovered in town.
the last 2 times I've been here I've been disappointed the first time  some friends of mine and I ordered a bunch of food the cheesy garlic bread that costs almost 10 dollars was a complete joke there was no cheese on the bread and it was only enough for 4 people and this past weekend we ordered food I got the greek salad ,anna fireworks pizza  for pickup. upon on my husband's arrival the salad was thrown together in front of him and more importantly they forgot the dolmas. another 10 bucks down the drain sadly enough I will not go back I would rather buy a frozen pizza from safeway
Review Source:So this place is really bad, save your time/money. I never write bad reviews either, and am also a local here in guerneville. Our order was as follows, judge for yourself:
1 beet salad -missing dressing and walnuts
1 potato pizza- missing fresh arugula and had green onions (no mention of green onions on the menu). Crust was literally cardboard, horrible "thin crust" attempt.
1 pepperoni calzone w extra ricotta- no ricotta, (paid extra to add it and it was left out) completely undercooked in the middle with more sauce then cheese. Raw, soupish consistency with a cardboard crust outside. Served with cold pizza sauce.
This order was $42. The saddest part is that I made him repeat the order to me to confirm that he had heard me correctly, he confirmed. Then they screwed up all 3 items. That's just bad business.
Total crap, don't bother
My husband and I were drawn to this restaurant by the great sounding live music inside but that was about the only good thing about this place. We got seated quickly and the waiter brought over waters in a decent amount of time but that was the last we saw of him. We waited about 20 minutes for him to come back to take our orders but he never did. There were many other workers around but no one came to check on us. That was our cue to exit the restaurant and we had a FABULOUS much less expensive dinner at Subway next door. I don't recommend anyone go to this dive - unless they want bad service!
Review Source:The roasted Brussel sprouts in olive oil and balsamic vinegar were quite tasty and I was impressed by the large portion. The pizza was also quite large, but it lacked a special zing that I look for. I'm from the East Coast and feel spoiled by my pizza upbringing. Pizzas here are not the same. So two stars for pizza, five stars for the stellar pianist, and three stars for the Brussels sprouts.
Review Source:We travel to the Russian River 1-2 times a year. Â Main St is always something we look forward too. Â The entertainment is top notch and it is a tribute to Ms Susie, the owner, the quality of the artists and how well known and accomplished they are to play in such a small venue. Â The food is consistent with some great surprises like the Limoncella Pizza, Yikes!! Â It was to die for! Â The staff is friendly and when they have a moment from their busy service can be quite entertaining and interesting to carry on a conversation with--very fun folks.
When they are super busy one may have to practice alittle patience with service speed but with the great music and fun atmosphere-relax and just plan on making it an evening!
I figured I'd write a review because everyone was hating on this place but I really enjoyed myself! Because of Lazy Bear Weekend it was fairly crowded, but service was still at a decent pace. The food was good, as a vegetarian I had a lot of options (went with the eggplant parmesan) and my entire party was happy with their choices. The best part is of course the entertainment. The pianist and singer made for a fun ambiance. If you're looking for something different and a bit kitschy, check it out!
Review Source:Worst place ever. We had bad service at the Station last year and chalked it up to the specific waiter. However, it seems to be a thread that runs through the establishment. The hostess begrudgingly sat us. It was about  20+ minutes (after five minutes we began to time how long things took on our phones) the manager finally came over and noticed that we had not had water, menus' etc.  The tables around us had been sitting with dirty dishes the entire time we were there.
The manager brought us sodas, while the waitress brought over breadsticks and salads to the table next to us, who as mentioned had been sitting with dirty plates for 20 min, saying to them, I guess you don't want these now? Â
The waitress said to us she'd be right back. We waited another 15 min before leaving. I left 6 dollars on the table to cover the sodas and mentioned to the manager that it was to cover the cost of the beverages and NOT a tip for the waitress.
I've heard the food is amazing if you can get it. In talking to other Lazy Bear participants, this isn't uncommon for the Main Street station. Â It's sad given that this is most likely a big weekend for all the places in Guerneville, though I would suggest frequenting any one of the other restaurants in town that have much better service and are much more appreciative of the clients.
I really want to rate this higher because the food was very good, the ambiance is nice (piano and a great female singer) and our group had a good time. Unfortunately the slow service pulls it down a star for me.
We started with a seared scallop appetizer, this was great although the scallops could have used a bit more sear to add some texture. Â But they were very fresh tasting and came with a greens mix and citrus sections that were good.
We also had the antipasto platter. Â I'm a sucker for cured meats in any form and this was good. Â Nice slices of salami and bresaola with some crostini and a great goat cheese. Â Some sweet cherry tomato halves were also good.
For entrees we had the salmon special served over sauteed summer squash and tomatoes. Â This was a standout piece of salmon - super moist but with a lot of carmelization on the outside for flavor.
The pot roast was another winner. Â Tender pieces of beef with mashed potatoes - just good stuff.
The meat calzone was given high marks although I didn't have any so I can't say for sure!
Beet salad was very good - bite sized beets, greens, orange segments and another dose of that yummy goat cheese! Â The menu indicated that it came with walnuts - mine were apparently left off. Â This was a good salad but the nuts would have added an extra flavortexture layer that I would have enjoyed. Â
So the food was great but we did have some issues with the service. Â Admittedly we were a talkative group and I know places that slow the pace to accommodate this but the restaurant wasn't busy (4 tables, 11 diners, most of whom had eaten and were enjoying the music) and the lag between finishing our appetizers and getting the entree was about 20 minutes. Â Then after entrees it was about another 15 minutes between that and being asked if we wanted dessert. Â By then we were tapping our feet and just wanted the check. Â Is this an unreasonable amount of time?
All things considered, I would definitely go back, the food was good and the service was friendly enough albeit slow for my preference!
Good food, reasonable prices but smallish issues stp me from awarding more stars.
Issue 1: we ordered an app and a salad. Then we sat and sat and sat....and sat. Then they came, and one minute later our entrees came. The waitress blamed it on the kitchen but why didn't she check in with us before? And maybe comp something?
Also, my daughter snuck out to tell the waitress to bring a surprise birthday dessert for my husband. In the middle of our dinner, she comes up and says "I heard you wanted dessert?" like she hadn't had the conversation at all. Ding-y.
Then, when they served the dessert (which I have to say was a very creditable tiramisu) we asked her for new forks. She said "sure," disappeared and we waited...again. Finally we asked someone else and she got them from a cupboard 3 feet from us. ???? What gives?
As for food, it was pretty good although the bruschetta had WAY too much raw garlic so it burned the mouth. We did not finish it. My linguine was not hot and way under seasoned. My daughter's baby back ribs had good flavor but were tough and hard to saw through. My husband liked his roast chicken and the mashed potatoes were really really good. Garlic bread also good except again, not hot enough.
In hindsight I think we came in at the end of what must have been a long day and the staff probably ran out of gas.
Good atmosphere and the blues singer was fun, albeit a bit wacky.
Went with my partner last night. The place itself is pleasant enough. Our waitress was nice but did not know how the special was prepared and tended to drift away for long periods of time. Our brussel sprout appetizer was burnt and was sent back. While the sauce on my partner's seafood special was tasty, the fish appeared to be frozen and it came with white rice and not the promised risotto. My shrimp fettuccine came with six frozen shrimp and completely flavorless pasta. I say all of this because none of it was cheap. There are definitely better finds in Guerneville.
Review Source:My boyfriend and I got away for the V-day weekend. He got this cute B and B in Guerneville; since the next day we will be spending some time with my parents close by.
So, we walked downtown for dinner. This place seemed packed, so we decided to follow the crowd. The food was ok but I had better. I ordered a sausage pizza and my bf got the meatloaf with mashed potatoes.
I do have to say that the waitress gets extra pts. for giving me two and half vodka shots into my cran and vodka drink. i was feeling a little tipsy and my bf asked the waitress how much she poured into my drink. It was funny but the service was great. We could have gone somewhere else for the food :(
Ill just tell this story like it is. Â We are locals and we eat at most of the local eateries often. Â I had never eaten here before but my BF had, he raved about the pizze he and his friend had a few weeks ago while dining at the location. Â Too bad I didn't get the same service and food he did ...
Looked up the menu on their website, there were two menus, old and new. I reviewed both seeing only minor differences and decided to order items that I saw on both menus thinking that meant they would be currently offering those dishes.
Called to order delivery, started to order and the first item I ordered they "haven't served in over two years" Jalepeno Poppers are a no go, ok moving on. (this is where the attitude started and never let up. Â The lady on the phone was obviously irritated, at me or something else but her tone was just RUDE.)
Large pizza, the same one my BF had a few weeks prior, Fireworks.
Next a salad for me, garden salad (7.50), and bread sticks with ranch and pizza sauce on the side. Â The lady warned me that their bread sticks were different than the "old ones" and I let her know I had never eaten here before so no room to dissappoint me there (wrong). She said "ok I will get this going for you." and hung up. Â No total, no wait time nothing. Â Not even time for me to chime in and ask. Â Alright I'll just wait I guess....
Food took approx 1.25 hours to get to the house. Â No call from them explaining any reasoning just late. Â Then the driver parked in the middle of our 1 lane road (there is room for approx 8 cars to park on one side of the road) and saw my BF on the deck. Â The driver wouldn't come up the stairs to the front door, he asked my BF to come down and get the food!! What?! Have you ever heard of this?
So my BF paid(bill was 33, he asked the driver for change and the driver said he didn't have any. Â That is just rediculous in my mind. NIce way to force a tip dude.) and brought the food inside. I was ravenous. Â I tear open my salad ready to dive in and nearly cried out of pure hunger pains when I saw/felt it. Â HUGE box, approx 1/4 head of ice burg lettuce in the middle of the box torn up (clearly not cut with a knife), 3 tomato wedges and 4 black olive halves. Oh, and the lettuce etc was HOT, it clearly sat on top of something hot (I would assume the pizza but read on), completely wilted and warm to the touch. Not how I prefer my salads. Â 7.50???? large ?????
OK I will fill up on bread sticks, where is the ranch and pizza sauce for dipping? Oh, not here. Cool, dry bread sticks yum. Â NOT EVEN, we got what appeared to be a sourdough loaf cut in half with butter re heated in the oven perhaps because it was very chewy and tough. We couldn't chew it so we didn't eat them.
Good thing we got a large pizza with lots of toppings. I grabbed the first piece from the box and notice something strange. Â The lower half of my piece ripped off as I tried to pull it out. Weird, I think as I bite into the half in my hand. COLD, not even like oh it just cooled off and got warm on the way over. Â No it was COLD. Â And the entire center of the pizza was so soggy you couldn't pick it up. Â It was literally a puddle of pizza parts. UGH.
By this time it was just too much too late at night, almost 9pm, for me to try and get the order fixed by calling so I just warmed what pizza I could eat and called it a loss. Â My BF can go eat here with his friends all he wants, but I will pass from now on.
On a Thursday night, we decided to pick up a pizza from one of the few places that remained open around 9pm. We decided to order take out: 1 Extra Large Fireworks (their combo pizza). The wait time was roughly 20-25 minutes.
Since we had time to pass, we decided to sit at the bar and order a beer. The service there is very friendly, and the workers (possibly owners too) didn't hesitate to make conversation and laugh with us.
As for the pizza, an extra large for $22.50 was a total rip off. I opened the box and expected a giant pizza, but found a tiny "extra large." The size felt more comparable to a medium. The pizza itself was mediocre. It definitely had a lot of toppings & the crust had a good crisp to it.
Overall, nothing blew my mind, but I wouldn't mind returning to try their other Italian dishes.
Be prepared to pay extra if there is live music during your meal. I do believe musicians should be paid for entertaining. But, if you are spending approx $80-$100 for 4 people to eat at a Restaurant, an extra fee for the music isnt fair. Do pay the musicians. But, dont make your dinner customers pay extra for it. If somebody is there just for the music, then just pass them the tip jar.
The recent time I tried to take friends visiting from another country there to eat was a disaster. It was all due to the fact that we just wanted a nice dinner out. I had been cooking for them all week, so they wanted to treat me to a meal out. Â There was live entertainment/music that evening, as often there is, although this was a coincidence to us.
We waited awhile for a table, as it was quite busy, and a weekend. As the four of us were seated, ordered drinks, and looked at our menus. AFTER that (we were settled), a lady came by to collect a fee for the entertainment. It was only $5 each. However, one of my friends was buying, and there were 4 of us. That meant $20 for live music that we did not even care about.
There was absolutely no mention of the extra $5 before we were settled in, and no signage whatsoever stating this was the fact. The table at the door holding an open menu artistically didnt even have a little sign about the music or the fee. My friend claimed this was a trick, and that they were purposefully taking advantage of us. At her insistence, we got up and walked out. I didnt blame her.
.
After setting up camp, we realized that we hadn't prepared for dinner we headed into town and came across this place after a unanimous decision to have pizza.
We were seated immediately and within a short period of time decided on the the Fireworks pizza (biggest size) with and order of bruschetta and wings. I didn't really have much of the wings but the bruschetta was delicious as was the pizza.
Throughout the meal the manager was super attentive and the waiter was fantastic. Oh and the organic coffee they serve was delicious.
My friends and I ate here for lunch last Saturday. Â The restaurant was not busy and we sat ourselves at a large round oak table.
Our server was nice and very friendly. Â The service seemed to be at a much slower pace than I'm used to. Â The soda was free if you ordered it by the pitcher, which we did. Â However, they ran out of diet soda which means they might as well not have any glasses.
The food was good. Â I got a Sloppy Giuseppe, an Italian Version of a Sloppy Joe. Â The sandwich was enjoyable. Â It was served with a side of really amazing potato salad.
Good wine list, good local entertainment venue, uneven food (at best).
For me, the food is uniformly overpriced and often substandard. The pizzas are in serious need of an overhaul, with massive amounts of cheese and a feeble, unspiced substandard sauce. To someone who is happiest with a true New York pizza like the ones at Mombo's Pizza, I find their pizzas just about inedible.
A plate of spaghetti for $16. Really? Seriously? At least they provide half-orders on request. Most of their entrees are enormous, family-style Italian but I have always had bad luck there. Plus, I really dislike that style of Italian food. My wife and I also disagree about their sauce, which I find middling at best.
Good but not best-of-breed minestrone. Not enough for me to rate this place higher.
Every appetizer I've had there has been substandard quality at best, with doughy garlic bread plastered with cheese, a feeble bruschetta and salads drowning in dressing. I have had to send something back every time I've been there.
All in all, I would only go there if the occasion demanded it (a good friend having a party there, for example) or for a glass of wine. I hate to be so harsh on a local business that has a long history, but I have never been happy with their food on the half-dozen occasions I've been there. For the prices they charge, the quality needs to be top-notch and it simply isn't close.
Fun place, varied menu, good wine list: I absolutely love the whole concept of Main Street Station as a lively local gathering spot with good live music, a fun & fairly child-friendly atmosphere, nice owners & staff, & they even have white tablecloths, flowers & candles on each table so you feel kind of special.
They offer a variety of pizzas, pasta dishes & sandwiches for reasonable prices. They're successful enough to weather the slow season & are open every day & evening. Â My personal favorites are the minestrone soup and the spaghetti and meatballs -- their tomato sauce is out of this world. The pasta dishes can seem tad pricey for what they are (especially since the salads and soups are a la carte), but the portions are extremely generous. They also offer half-portions which are filling and satisfying for many folks.
I must warn readers about a few little quirks: (1) The salads often involve a lot of iceberg lettuce & their regular customers LIKE 'em that way; (2) the pizzas are yummy if you like thick-crusted rustic style pizza, but you may want to ask  your server to go light on the cheese; and (3) Main St. Station has interesting, mostly acoustical, musical acts, & sometimes charge cover for the more popular acts (others are pass-the-hat).
If you're going to serve sub-par pizza, just give up and don't serve any at all. Frozen pizza, along the lines of Tombstone, is better. The pizza we ordered was all bread, very little sauce and not enough cheese. The toppings fell off when you pick it up. Toppings should be glued down by cheese and or sauce.
The spaghetti is cooked well, but the sauce here seemed canned. It brought back memories of Chef Boyardee from when I was a kid. The meat tasted full of fillers, like bread crumbs or some such. They boxed the croutons with the salad, so they stale and soggy. The blue cheese dressing tasted chemical.
There is good food in Guerneville (see my other reviews). But it's certainly not here!
We both had pasta and the food was great. Pasta was light, shrimp were cooked well and the sauces were flavorful.
The ambiance is eclectic - a little western, a little "pizza place," a little contemporary. The night we were there a duo of folk singers were there and were playing all different types of music. All of these environmental factors combined made it an interesting experience.
Wait staff was attentive but super busy. The place is small and it was packed, so bring your patience.
I'm giving this place 2 stars.... literally minutes after walking out because they failed to serve me. The place looks nice, though... and I love live music... so they get a 1 star benefit of the doubt. That being said, here is what I just experienced:
I came in to get a salad and pizza to go... and while it took a bit to realize I should go order in the back, I was excited to try them out. I've lived in the area a little while and always see them on my way through town. So I get back there and a nice man answers my question of whether they do to go orders with "yes... she can help you"... but as he says that she turns and walks away. That's cool. People are busy. I can wait... but the guy sees that she turns away and just leaves anyway. I stand there for minutes as multiple people literally stand right in front of me and, despite my best attempts, avoid all eye contact. After the first guy walks past me another few times, and the woman who he said would help me gets a beer for someone who just walked up... I politely leave.
That's my experience, for what it's worth. I hope it was an exception to the norm. I just went down to Andorno's instead where they were super nice and made me feel good about being there. Glad to be on my way home to finally eat!
3 stars for the food, +1 for the good times we've had here.
Love that Guerneville is ghost town in the winter, and love that main st. station still has bands perform on the weekends.
As i was just me and the bf drunk off our pants patronizing the joint, we requested some ray charles and dirty blues from the previously drone-y jazz quartet. Â MAN did they deliver (or maybe i was overly inebriated...)
We have had on and off food experiences here- I HIGHLY recommend the spinach pizza- EXTRA COOKED. Â Really fun to take out and eat by the river in warmer temperatures as well...
This place is a huge DARK spot on my GVille vacation :(
1) If you are going to charge a cover, be honest about it and tell your customers when they come in. Â Saying, "Our music selection is on the cover." doesn't absolve you of saying the music cover charge will be added to your bill. Therefore, I was not expecting to find an extra $42 on the check to listen to crappy "jazz".
2) The iceberg lettuce salad, corning-ware plates, squishing diners so close you bump us no matter how close we scoot into the table, poor customer service....
I could go on but I'd rather not remember this place any further
Man...People are really harsh on this place. Of course, anyone who's ever been to NYC on a vacation immediately anoints his or herself a pizza pundit beyond reproach. I don't think that there's a category of restaurants for which Yelp reviews are more persnickety and hyperbolic. It seems pretty damaging to a lotta places that actually do an appreciable job. And then you got people like Patrick who was upset that Main Street Station took 30+ minutes and therefore wanted something for free. I guess Domino's is the best pizza place ever, right?
Well, I don't know how consistent this place is because I've only ever been there once. And, yes...I was extremely hungry after a day of hiking up and down some rugged coastline. We stopped in Guerneville on a Lazy Bear festival weekend. Here I was having an active weekend trying to trim down to look good my lady, but here in Guerneville, my Zach Galifinakis-lookin' self was gettin' all kindsa flirty looks, winks, and smoochy signals.
There was a cabaret singer, so we paid the cover. I generally hate this style of entertainment, but she was quite an undeniable talent, and she really worked the crowd outstandingly well. Maybe it was actually the crowd reaction more than the performance, but we were enjoying ourselves during our wait. And about that wait....It seems like everyone's mentioning the wait in their reviews here, but I didn't feel like it was too long. Not for the quality of the pizza we got, which was just about perfect for what we wanted. Can't rush perfection, can you?
Crust was a little bit thick, but not Chicago-like. The texture was delightful, so I was happy to leave not a scrap. Surely I'd have left the crust if it wasn't so scrumptious. Veggie toppings were plentiful and fresh...even snappy! Seems like they use whatever's in season.
I definitely wanna go there again sometime.
I know our options are slim in Guerneville, but I usually order pizza from Main Street Station. Â The photo I uploaded is of their pinini's. Â They were good but I hated the way they're cut. Â Makes it hard to eat. Â Ours kept falling apart. Â Big mess. Â JUST CUT THEM NORMAL. Â Next time, I'll just ask... I'm sure it won't be a problem.
The staff is very friendly. Â Pretty warm atmosphere and I believe they have live music on the weekends.
Average pizza served by really slow and unfriendly people.
One summer night, some friends and I decided to dine at one of the outside tables. The waitress had the nerve to ask us to pay in advance! As if we were going to dine and dash! I couldn't believe this -- especially since we looked upscale by the standards of this town. There is nothing more insulting than being treated like a criminal by someone slinging pizzas -- or anyone, for that matter.
Under ordinary circumstances, that kind of behavior would warrant an automatic single-star review but, sadly, I think this is still one of the best restaurants in downtown Guerneville.
Also, they have live jazz once in a while which would be cool except for that they'll tack a mandatory cover-charge on to your tab without any advance warning.
I had a good experience here.
Guerneville on a Friday night with my main squeeze. Â We dropped in there for some food, attracted by the warm ambiance (cold night!) and a jazz trio playing.
Waiter was very attentive.
Spicy chicken wings were delicious.
Pitcher of diet coke was heaven-sent.
Pizza (the Bohemian) was delicious. Â Could have definitely been sated with a "large" but we got an XL (hey, we're two big hungry guys!) and had pizza for breakfast, too.
I had a good experience here. Â Good food, romantic ambiance when I was there.
One downside -- there is a cover for the nights when there is live music. Â $5 each the night we were there. Â Only found that out upon observing the front page of the menu.
They answered all of my questions about dairy ingredients and delivered to me some yummy crab cakes. Â I enjoyed people watching in the Main Street Station. Â The jazz was a nice tempo and the musicians seemed to be enjoying themselves. Â The singer told us that she would give us a free CD if we gave her $20 for her autograph. Â Hmmm. Â
I think my Italian grandma would approve of this place. Â I can't eat pasta so I can't say for sure though. Â But she eats almost all of her meals listening to jazz.
My five-star system for accomodating people with special diets:
Responsiveness to questions/needs: ***** (five stars, they answered all of my questions)
Dairy-free: **** (four stars, some dishes are dairy free)
Gluten-free: ** (two stars, not much without wheat since there is mostly pasta)
Vegetarian: *** (three stars, some veggie options)
Vegan: ** (two stars, not many vegan options)
