Wow! They had a deal on yelp for checking in and it's $10 for two hrs. The employee that worked here waited until I checked in and said it's for girls only so I can't even use it!
He didn't ask me for my ID, which I thought was kind of weird. we started to play and 5 mins into the game I see a mob of kids from the age of 10-15 getting their own table!
First time ever seeing that. After my friends and I played the FULL hour we left!
Came to check this place out since we were looking for something to do in the area. It's located in the 99 cent store plaza in the strip mall. The place is your typical asian hangout at night. Lotta gangster looking asian guys shooting pool with there homies or girlfriends. The people do seem pretty civil and friendly though. The rates are $10/hour on the weekdays or $12/hour on the weekends.
The no name tables themselves are in pretty good condition with fairly well maintained cloth and balls/sticks. The house sticks are all in pretty decent condition too with good tips on most of the sticks with no warping. There's also a good amount of new chalk laying around each table too. Â It doesn't get too loud either since they play korean music in the background softly. Note on all the interesting signs on the walls too. Gambling is NOT allowed! Smoking is NOT allowed in the premises! But as a couple people have mentioned the lighting is pretty bright here. They also spray this cheap rose smelling air freshener every 15 minutes it seems. So if you have a sensitive nose definitely stay away from the end tables.
The bathroom itself is abit on the dirty side and definitely probably not something the ladies would want to use if at all possible. But hey it's mostly a guy hangout spot so what do you expect? But for a hour or two of cheap billards its an ok spot to chill at with some buddies.
The tables aren't name brand, but they are kept in decent condition. The balls are cleaned and waxed. It is a little crowded in there, but the atmosphere is generally pretty good - it doesn't get too loud despite the crowdedness. If you are into carom games then you can check this place out. They have about 4 or 5 carom tables. If you are looking to play pool with some friends, this is a great place to go, otherwise there's not much to do here other than pool. 10 dollars an hr per table all day.
Review Source:So gross. Â I haven't seen bathrooms this bad since I the last time I was in China. Â It smelled and looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months.
Yes, $10 is a decent price but I'd rather pay $14 for a nicer place. The lighting is uncomfortably bright; it isn't exactly inviting. Â I admit, the tables themselves are decent but the placement is so poor. We picked the table closest to the door and it was only about 4 feet away from the next table. Â Hello, everyone knows you need more space than that between tables. Â I couldn't even bend down to take several shots because there wasn't enough space between the tables for my butt.
Now let's talk about the cue sticks. Â The tip of the first one we picked up was falling off, literally.
Pros: Â I had a decent time and it cost us $10. Â
Cons: All of the above and many many more. Â Unless you are really tight on cash and can't spare another couple of dollars, I would stay away.
It is just a pool hall. But hey, how many places can you go to play pool in a nice, lit area and chill with some friends? Not too many places anymore I can tell you that. It is sooo hard to find a nice place to just play pool for a few hours. Granted, most of the people who go there are asian, but the tables are decent and the rates are affordable. I would go more often if I could only find people to play with. Sigh. That always seems to be the hardest part.
Review Source:Deep set in a little Chinese/Korean plaza next to the 99 cent store. Â The place wasn't too bad. Â It was really well lit which was surprising for a pool hall. Â It had a few snooker tables which was cool and about 5-7 standard pool tables.
I went with my friend. Â And it might had been a little weird from my friend cuz it was ALL ASIANS! Â But what can you expect from a place called Man-Wha. Â The rates were not bad at all. Â the cues were fine. Â The tables didn't have any holes. Â The felt was ok. Â At $10/hr it wasn't too bad. Â I didn't get free soda or no about it b/c the guy that was running it seemed like a FOB but whichever. Â It was still good times!
I've been going to this place for close to 2 years. I go probably two times a week because there is nothing really to do in Rowland area at night time. Closes at 2am. Provides free sodas.
What I enjoy about this place is that the tables, balls, sticks are maintained very well and it has an auto re-racker. It is $10 dollars an hour and happy hour before 4pm or something is $7 dollars. This is pretty overpriced to my taste but I keep coming back because they have really nice tables compare to everywhere else I go. Other alternative is VIP in diamond bar. This place is slightly more family oriented and dating friendly.
I haven't been to this place in years, but I used to go all the time with my friends. $11 gets you an hour of pool, plus free sodas. This isn't a bar, so there's no alcohol or anything.
Also, despite the numerous signs posted around the place saying that you *can't*...ask them for a cup of water. ;) I will leave it at that.
Again, that's how it was when I used to go there, and that was over 3 years ago...so things may have changed. :)
