Mans is my Patriots of the south. I can credit it in introducing me to a lot of my friend-family in Charleston. Great crowd where the drinks flow. Monday Pool League, Taco Tuesdays (and game nights!), Karaoke on Friday's... there's always something going on and a lot of laughs at this local bar.
Review Source:I love manhattans mostly because the family feel. Great spot to meet friends quickly with inexpensive drinks. Bartenders are great, always remembering your face and what you like to drink. I wish they served late night fried foods like some places but that's my only complaint. Who knows, maybe that's not a complaint because its saved me and my wallet from drunkenly eating plenty of times.
Review Source:I love Manhattans! It's been my local "cheers" bar for the last 5 years where everyone knows your name. Â Everyone is always friendly here. The bartenders are very attentive and the food is always great. Â The owner used to have a nice Italian restaurant next door that they renovated into an extension of the bar and remodeled. Â Plenty of the food was carried over from the Italian place (Souri's) menu. Â The only difference is that the menu is now more bar menu focused. Â I love the meatball sliders. Â Always a good choice.
After your first time here, there will always be a familiar face at Manhattan's. Â Most folks live in the Charleston National golf community of Park West across the street. Â Head up there and jump in on a game of cornhole, pool (two paid tables), or Foosball. Â They are always running different specials and often have live music, karaoke, bingo, trivia, or pool leagues rotating through their schedule.
Great local bar with a friendly crowd!
Great local spot, somewhat hidden from the masses (a good thing).
I went on a Thursday about HH time, and there were about fifteen stools at the bar, about half of them full. Â Full bar, and the bartender was a great dude, totally friendly. Â They had a touch screen juke box. Â They serve typical pub food as well, but I didn't try anything...mostly pizzas, burgers, salads, and apps.
More of a drinking establishment, which I like, because once kids show up, it starts looking the Dog and Duck across the street in Park West. Â I have kids, and that's exactly what I don't want to see when I go out for drinks. Â Let the families be families across the street at the other establishments, but if you're local and over the age of 30 and looking for a good cocktail spot not too overcrowded, then this is your spot. Â Dress code was pretty much come as you are.
I will definitely be back with spouse, friends, or solo to accomodate my libations cravings.
